#bassfishing #fishingrod #review
This is how I shop for rods and reels. Affordable gear that also has high quality.
I have some black max reels (new max x)that I’ve had for about seven years… I clean them twice a year and they’re just now starting to get a little noisy. Best reels for the money.
Man it's been a long time but my first bait caster combo was Abu Garcia black max combo from Walmart I bought it years ago didn't like the bait caster couldn't figure it out and then I was fishing all the time and decided to give it another chance and plenty of patience once I finally figured it out that is when I really got hooked and the started buying higher end reels and rods now my best and favorite reel is the daiwa zillions
Unfortunately, soon to be 200$ combos after tariffs.
13 Fishing has 2 new combos on TW. Are you going to review them?
You guys are having fun!
ya, kid stuff for sure…you guys are great but can't possibly fish as many hours as it takes to (stand the test of time) give great feedback on ALLLLLLL this stuff
Their black Fri sell sucks if you wanna buy jigs and soft plastic you can't cause one will pass and the other one start. You can't buy all at once they should've done that would've been better
Are all the rods on sale or just the ones that are advertised? I know in the past, exprides we’re on sale even though they weren’t advertised.
I think the combo videos came a little late tackle warehouse combo sales ended today
Hmmm…i only have 25 baitcast combos & 5 spinning….probably need to look at another budget combo, as 30 just isn't enough 😂 i still have 6, maybe 7 Abu Garcia Black Max baitcast reels…best $40-50 reels on the market..didn't know they discontinued them…all mine still work great & the only con is they don't hold as much line…no big deal, i can still cast plenty far…in fact, they perform better than a couple expensive reels i have
Does the discount gets added after purchase like last year?
it’s getting to be THAT TIME. I can’t wait for the $300-$400 combos…. I just got a full zillion setup. dude that rod and reel are both next level.
I know you guys came out with the video before you knew what was going to be on sale. Is there anything that you guys would recommend over what was mentioned at the sale prices?
I was waiting for these to start dropping!!! Thanks guys!
Ark CATALIZER RODS 3 for 99$
Best bang for your buck there always on sale or 59$ when not on sale catching giants on them they have been amazing for everything accept Chatterbait I’m kind of a chatter bait snob give them a look 100$ budget video now your talking my language for affordable 🦍I’ve always said is it the tool or the carpenter using it
If you add a G Loomis or Shimano to cart and check out, will they be discounted like years past?
I gave my nexave to my nephew after 3 years of wading the sandy creeks in east Tn. Destroyed a few reels on Stoney Creek. The few dollar cheaper abu i bought prior to the shimano lasted less than a half dozen trips. And most cheap reels ive seen have external brakes. What drives me away from Shimano. And the black max is trash compared to the cardinal they replaced. No offense but I've fished cheap gear all my life up until 8 or so years ago.
You can also leap frog your way to better combos using the soft actionof cheaper rods. For my jerkbait combo I bot an SLX and a silvermax M rod for cheap, and down the road found my bass X rod at the right price and grabbed it. Now my topwater combo is the silvermax with a blackmax reel. I don't mind cheaper rods on topwater as long as it loads up right cuz I dont need topwater sensitivity.
Looking for a shorter spinning rod for my oldest to step up to. Is there anything around this price point that is closer to 6 foot than 7 foot?
Nice suggestions. In the last 3 years I sold off most of my 'budget rods". Higher end stuff is for sure very nice to have but not necessary. My PB came on a Fenwick rod (now 40 years old) that I still own. The reel was a Johnson Century 100B. 12 lb mono line. These $100-150 combos today are light years ahead of what you could get in the 80's or even the early 90's.
Don’t skip $400 this year
Are they still discounting Shimano during the sale like they have in the past?
The tackle warehouse sale changes to phase, 2 at 9 AM. pacific time. As of right now, it is 7:55 a m here in california. You still have an hour to save on items in the phase one combos, line, terminal tackle, jigs and apparel and sunglasses.. Then after nine pt you can save on rods, spinnerbaits, a riggs, soft baits and frogs.
Oh its crazy abu has the mag trac external breaking system that can ve found on 20$ temu reels on thier reels 🙄😂😂. Come on guys you know thats the cheapest and most common breaking system on the market 😂.
do sale prices include all the rods and reels ?
I just picked up a daiwa regal 2500 and paired it up with a st crois bass x 7'1" M for around 200. Pretty happy with it
Each sale starts at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.
Can y'all have a buyer's guide for GoPros and cameras
Hey guys, why did you go with Daiwa's Revros LT over the Legalis LT? I don't have either spinning reel, but there's so many positive reviews of the Legalis I thought for sure it would make your list.
Another Great Video Guys… Sucks that no bass live up in Alaska and shipping is crazy where i am at but I love your videos and information. Specifically for Pike Fishing… Keep the line tights
Nice fellas! I know you have filmed these in advance but maybe put in a blurd on travel rods. Thanks
Would you say there’s a rod for both bass and trout? I’m thinking of getting a st croix avid panfish rod 7ft light for both bass and trout, I’m mainly throwing a 2.8 keitech, nose hook drop shot, karashi and for trout spoons and spinners. Currently I have a 7ft intenza medium light it’s a good rod but a lil stiff for me. I don’t wanna spend too much, but I don’t mind any recommendations?
