MLF is struggling cause they lied with empty promises… NPFL has the break it has wanted / needs to grow The League.
B.A.S.S. Opens and Elites will continue to get better views and coverage with the improved coverage and formats. I watched MLF 1 year, and then they started screwing anglers with too many loop holes for cheating from the start. Hate it for the anglers, but I'm not going to support the MLF agenda.
Punishment for 1 bad rookie year is wrong. I believe MLF will feel backlash from sponsors and fans. There is too much change.
BASS takes care of BASS, so they can take care of the anglers that take care of BASS. In business, the circle must be completed or everyone loses.
No BASS, No anglers, No fans, No sponsors. Simple business math…

Glad back to all fish count. Much better to watch. Just need to keep minimum wt at 2 lbs. Cutting 30 guys is to go to a 4 day Tx to save money. I liked the 6 day, but not commited to it. Those 30 cuts are going to be PO'd. Really don't understand why they just couldn't have a day 1st day cut of those 30 guys. Would weed out the sandbaggers.

Originally i loved bass and mlf when it first started, then i didn't know what to think about the bpt, But it did bring in a lot of new faces into bass and made it stronger, i believe this is a mlf problem financially, they can act like it's not an act of desperation, that being said I'm still watching any and every min. Weather that be bass , mlf, opens, tackle , bfl, it don't matter I'm watching and following,
Well I'm not watching either trail at this point so the changes will not effect that part of it for me. But for the love of God find a format and stick with it!!!!! Enough already. Go with what got you to the dance and just go fishing already. I want to see anglers catch fish whether they are giants or small fish. More Little Fish, MLF, is what they are built on and should stay with. Shake things up with the anglers and let them get hungry again.
I am not a fan of MLF/BPT. Watch only BASS now. I like the best 5 , better than every fish counts. Sadly , BPT has to be struggling as the payouts to the total number anglers is changing and is less. They are also cutting camera and some of the crew. This is consolidation. Their moves tell us the money is just not there. Inflation can’t be helping them or the anglers either. KVD got out at the right time.
I love the changes. Every fish counts to me makes it much more exciting and I agree this year was dull with the previous change. I like that MLF is at least willing to try different things and adjust based on feedback where as Bassmaster is just the same ol thing that I don’t even watch anymore. Props to MLF.

They had to change things. Live viewership was stagnant if not down by %. If you look at it, this could quite possibly be the best strategic business model. 50 anglers with every fish format now allows for an exciting slug fest like the 2022 Redcrest with Bobby lanes last minute win. The 5 fish format is old, tired and boring. No one wants to watch BASS or MLF when the anglers catch their limit in the first 30 minutes and then were stuck watching 7.5 hours for a pathetic 1 oz cull. BASS attempted the 50 angler shootout, but its demise was with the 5 fish format.
Every fish counts format is a better live stream model. They created their identity with the every fish format. The vote was split 51% for vs. 49% against the change. For entertainment value, every fish is a sound business model. Streaming is the new era of viewing. Businesses change all the time. Fan base will most likely increase since most fell off from the 5 fish format nonsense.
For MLF, they clearly have noticed that in every industry right now…..cut backs are ongoing. Mainly in part of the questionable economy. Interest rates for boat loans are through the roof. Price gouging for bass boats, tackle….don't get me started on the prices of tackle. Point is, MLF is clearly seeing this economic issue and now made it possible to maintain and allow for the anglers to do what they love. Only problem, if my interpretation of qualifying is correct, there are many " hot sticks" that are about to be confronted with a major decision.
It should also be known, it was confirmed last night that the pay out structure from 2nd to 50th place was a typo. The payout will be corrected soon.
I think you are right about the bottom feeder guys that dont truly compete, will most likely leave MLF. ANd those same bottom feeders in BASS will most likely be restructed, ( again economic models being the driving force ). There are Guys like those who left MLF went to BASS and most haven't done much. So it does suggest that MLF is tightening up the field for true competitive fishing. Sadly i classify some of those guys as back markers.
Regardless, MLF will most likely come out stronger with this change ( again economic stand point ) by reducing the number of payouts and keeping the top qualified " class " of anglers.

It got dull. And all the other variations (team formats, etc.) were equally dull. Glad we are moving back to the original magic. I am concerned some of the amazing personalities that made watching great might get cut. This might also pacify the forward facing sonar controversies as well.
You said everything spot on, there’s nothing to disagree with what you said. You will lose some of the top anglers, but it also gives an opportunity for a new a glare to make their mark on the water.
