Biggest Bass Yet! Epic Bass Fishing a Texas Rig

If you sort through enough little bass, you will eventually catch some big ones. The spring is a great time to catch giant bass before they drop their eggs.

Here in this Northern Arizona lake they are still setting up to spawn, but haven’t spawned yet. I saw this bass cruising the shallows two days prior and came back with hopes of catching her.

Texas rigs are a great way to catch bass all year around, but in cover like this, punching with a Texas rig is one of the few ways to effectively fish.

Between the Texas rig, the Tokyo rig, the jig, and the frog, I have pulled some monster bass out of this little lake, but this bass is the biggest.

I wish I would have followed my instincts and bought a scale.

Man, it is exciting when you hook into a good bass like this one. I was glad that I was fishing with the right gear to haul her in quick and not to break her off or hurt her.
