Big Bass Tour 2025 Lake Murray Day 1

I fished in the (Cabela’s) Big Bass Tour at Lake Murray April 25th and 26th. This is Day 1 (Friday April 26th) of the tournament weekend. The blueback herring spawn and shad spawn were starting to happen, but the bass just hasn’t made it to all of the points where the spawn was happening, The few points that were on fire were hard to come by and you had to be out very early to try and get one. I wasn’t able to get my 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd choice of starting spots, so I just happened up on a point that happened to be holding bass (and striper) early in the morning. The bite only lasted about an hour or so, then I had to just go fishing. I was able to catch one fish that was big enough to weigh in and finished 9th in that hour. I was lucky enough to cash a check on day one for $125. Day 2 will be coming soon.
