Back out over high water tonight with Jay, targeting smoothounds and hoping for a bit of action on the crab baits.

Conditions made things tough from the start, with strong gusty winds making fishing challenging and seemingly keeping the hounds well away.

But fishing always has a way of surprising you…

Instead of smoothounds, we ended up with some very unexpected catches — two codling in the middle of May 😳 and a lovely 7lb bass for Jay 🔥

Definitely one of those crazy sessions where you never know what’s coming next!
