  1. I am not a tournament guy, but have been fishing on my life and enjoy it greatly. The video game, fishing era and techniques just don’t interest somebody like me. I go out to catch numbers and enjoy it. Maybe fish a local tournament now and then. I will stick with side scan way point style.

  2. Wow, that's disappointing about the livescope dominance! The frustrating part is they are having success but it's 99% due to the live scope. I used to respect anyone who won a tournament back when it required real skill to FIND AND catch fish. I don't have any respect for winners anymore if that's how they did it.

  3. Hey Randy I was a co angler this tournament and I placed 17th cashed 187 dollars now it was a hard tournament and I completely agree with u live scope is not fair at all my boater prolly caught over 30 bass using it

  4. Im 23 and I am so grateful to have been raised old school fishing the banks. I dont understand why people are so obsessed with sticking their head in a screen for hours. Takes the joy and mystery out of fishing to me, but to each their own i guess

  5. Congratulations Randy. I disagree with putting boaters together. They need to think about why there are less and less co anglers? I’ve heard many people say they won’t fish as a co angler because of FFS. They just say they’ll stop tournaments and fun fish without FFS.

  6. I support you and I’m glad to hear you thoroughly explain the habits of the fish and what it’s doing to the bass population. Makes more sense to me now. I hope you are successful in your fight against it and you end up convincing tournament promoters to change their ways.

  7. Ice on the guides? Your guys up north are tough hombres! Yesterday I was in my new pedal kayak here in south Florida, whining cause it was 60 when I got up. It is so impressive to hear you catching fish in such cold water. Well done and good luck.

  8. I’m not new to fishing nor am I a pro however have been fishing for twenty plus years I do own a boat I do not own live scope in fact the only electronics I own are in my yak. However the idea of catching a fish you were never able to catch before is why each and everyone of us continues to fish trying to get our pb. Chasing what ever your big fish is to you is what fishing is about. And let’s not forget the tournament side is a competition and competitions are never fair even in professional sports. There are also finical disparities in nfl nba mlb. Some teams have better training facilities some teams have more money to spend on better players. If you can’t compete don’t blame the competition that is a personal problem. Also no one has yet to mention some of these fisheries that use to be so good go through ecological changes as well as flooding doubts other things that impact aquatic life. Everything evolves over time it is only natural and you either evolve and grow with it or you get left behind. Mother Nature will do you the same way

  9. This is the worst take I’ve heard and I’ve been watching your stuff for a while. So it’s too bad now that anglers are catching more fish and higher weights? It’s almost as if they’re competing to win a tournament? 😳

  10. Hey man ive watched alot of your videos and agree with everything your saying! What would you recommend for fishing primarily hellgramites/craws/tubes with ned jigs in clear fast flowing creeks, for smallmouth bass. Fluorocarbon or monofilament? 6'10 or 7' medium fast spinning rods. Thank you!

  11. I think livescope is terrible for the sport especially tournaments…when i explain it to my dad thats 75 years old, fished all his life and has no idea what livescope is and he says " well that sounds like cheating to me" ….theres alot wrong with that…yes times change but its getting out of hand in my humble opinion….i will continue to fish the old school way…more enjoyable to me and more rewarding putting together a pattern without technology

  12. Its mak8ng me sick to my stomach.i learned from 1 of the best jerkers 30 years ago.If you cant apply your knowledge of 30to40 years experience because a college computer whiz likes gaming, piss on it.ill never change..

  13. The era of video fishing . The technology is only going to get better and better . You are correct . There are fish being caught that use to hardly ever be fished for . Maybe an angler in the 80's might find these big fish schools once every 5 years or so . I have never seen these giants found so easily and during this time of year they are gonna eat getting ready for spring spawn .

  14. Good job out there. In a tournament of that level all boat owners should of fished their own boat, even if they had to do it alone. I think ffs has been responsible for alot more bigger fish. I mean lbs bigger big bass.

  15. What enables a bass to grow large is to find a location undisturbed ,we are upsetting the predator pray relationship, as long you are aware of that ,sleep well with a clean conscience ,keep eating sugar and processed foodstuffs the end is nearly here .

  16. BFL here at Lake Lanier today as well. I fished as a co-angler. Won’t fish another that’s for sure. This was not my first BFL but it was the first one where I was with someone who scoped all day mostly in ditches. Not much for me to fish unless I luck up. No docks, no secondary points, no bluffs. Barely could drag a point. Don’t blame the angler, but all top bags were scoped on the boater side with damiki or neko mostly. It kinda sucked. Not sure what the motivation would be to be a co anymore outside of club tournaments or teams. Sucked.

  17. What a horrible day on the water- fisherman are able to do well and still catch a bunch of quality fish on what would otherwise normally be considered a tough day … isn't technology terrible … I for one vote for going back to a time where you would have spent 8 hrs grinding it out in 30 deg temperature only to catch 1 or 2 dinks for your efforts – not!

  18. Got my but kicked today in my bass club tourney by electronics. BUT caught 3 flipping a jig and couldn’t be happier. There’s something special about looking at a map, knowing where they’re staging and finding the fish naturally!
