In this video I show y’all how to catch Bass in a pressured body of water! This particular body of water I fish is a pond but this technique will work in rivers, creeks and lakes as well.
To catch bass on a finesse topwater lure in a pressured pond, you can try the following tactics:
1. **Use Light Line**: Use light fishing line, such as 6-8 pound fluorocarbon, to make the lure look more natural in the water.
2. **Early Morning or Late Evening**: Fish during early morning or late evening when bass are more likely to be active and feeding.
3. **Cast Near Cover**: Target areas near covers like submerged vegetation, docks, or overhanging trees where bass might be lurking for shelter.
4. **Slow and Steady Retrieve**: Finesse lures work best with a slow and steady retrieve. Let the lure sit for a moment after casting before reeling it in slowly.
5. **Match the Hatch**: Choose a lure that closely resembles the natural prey of bass in that pond. Look for frogs, small fish, or insects that bass feed on.
6. **Stealth Approach**: In pressured ponds, bass are more wary. Approach quietly and avoid making loud splashes or sudden movements that can spook the fish.
7. **Experiment with Different Lures**: If one finesse topwater lure isn’t getting bites, try different colors, sizes, or styles until you find what works for the bass in that pond.
