Personally for my fishing, nothing beats the classic twin tail spinnerbait trailer. I take smelly jelly liquid and marinate the bags for the most explosive smallmouth strikes. I feel this simple trailer is so effective because our baitfish are tiny, anything else is just too big and bulky making it unnatural looking. Using smaller finesse spinnerbaits with size 3.5 or 4 willow blades also makes all the difference for getting bites.
Great tips again. I actually sub a curly tail grub for the twin tails most times. Nothing is choice 2 then a boot tail swim bait or soft jerkbaits. I like to contrast colors most of the time. The defeat with solid white spinnerbaits I've found are white and red heads and white with chartreuse tail grub gets hammered.
1. Paddle tail
2.Nothing
3. Grub
In that order for myself
