  1. I use a StrikeKing Swimbait trailer on my Chatterbaits and Jigs. Pearl White. I use Garlic CHARTREUSE Spike it on the flaps. Something about the Swim jig trailer works well for me. Give it a try! What do you have to lose? Shawn.

  2. The menace grub is one of my go-to trailers…I always have a million packs kickin around (along with Yamamoto paddle zakos for my swimjigs). The menace, paired up with a finesse jig is a KILLER summertime combination for me. The finesse jig is a smaller, less intimidating profile…but the menace gives it enough action to grab some attention. Unless things are getting really finessey and I want a chunk with muted action, the menace is almost always what I’ll start with…and many times, never need to put down.

  3. Just stumbled into this series and loved it. I definitely would appreciate seeing more on different bait families – various jerk bait styles and retrieves, square bills vs slat sides vs lipless vs etc crankbaits, vertical baits like blades/tail spinners/darters, etc, etc, etc. Love all the great info. I always suspected all the baits I throw don't act the same as they do right beside the boat where you can see them easily.

  4. Ever thought of fishing a dropshot, when casting and dragging only, with a bitsy bug or a ned jig as your weight while still using your favorite dropshot setup up the line?

  5. Zmam stickbaits SINK. Beaver style baits as jig trailers flat out work. I've caught easily 30 plus fish over ten pounds using Sweet Beavers as jig trailers.

  6. The Menace absolutely kills it for me in the 55-70 degree range, although I always keep it on a chatterbait rather than a standard jig. TBH I probably get just as many bites on a regular jig but being able to lift the hammer and feel the thump (or not if there is a bite) helps me catch away more fish.

  7. Some I would like to see is the doomsday reaper, zoom ultra vibe speed craw, and Missile Baits D bomb (even though it’s a beaver style I think they move a lot when I am pulling it through the water). I am also curious of the action of the reaction innovation spicy beaver, it’s similar to the menace but has a different profile

  8. I crush cold weather smallmouth with the berkely chigger craw on a football jig. I like to cut it really short into a chunk style. You're right about the claws being more subtle for cold weather. Also the netbait paca chunk, it's got similar claws.

  9. Those 3x material baits do make them stand up very well. All I use for creatures and trailers now. Not only that sometimes I’ll get a few trips out of a single bait they’re so durable

  10. Glad you’re back at the pool. Really enjoy seeing the comparison of various lure options. The side by side views are especially useful. Well done, looking forward to more.
