  1. man i get those random knots so much when i cast spinning rods. i close the bail with my hand and try not to reel up slack and it still happens. ive tried diff lines and braid to leader. anyone have any insight on this ?

  2. Pimp my free rig – I've seen some improvements in my fishing friends bubble you might wanna know about:

Adding a stopper first to prevent the weight slipping up the line and making a mess where it isn't supposed to go. Adding stopper and bead to the hook to prevent the ring of the weight to damage the knot or slip over the eye of the hooks. There's no texas-rig-click so far, since the eye ans swivel of the weight aren't as hard and stiff as a bullet weight would be. If you''re aiming for the click, you'll have to go for two beads instead. For better feedback use tungsten weights. You may wanna use your common sense to look for the perfect eye at your free rig weights. To small adds friction to the line, it will mess with the free movement of weight and bait. To big and the weight might slip over the hooks eye or over the braid-to-leader.knot.

Hope, you found something worth to try. 🙂

  3. Im all in with the free rig, but I put two boberstoper on and have the weight in between. So I can use it as a free rig, carolina rig and jika rig by just slinging the stops. I used a small v-snap and a dropshot weight befor I got propper weights so thats a tip if someone just wanna go out and try.

Use weight from 1/16 – 1/2 and both floting (like flukes/stick/worm) to salty lumps. Oh, and I run my free rig on 0.61fc leader becuse of pikes. 🙂

  4. There's a great video by a guy called BassSniper, his video is in English, but it shows how easy it is to fuck up the free rig, particularly if you let it fall on tight line. Video is called "15 Types of Lures Falling Under Water: DO THIS to Gain UNIQUE Action".

  5. Great video!!! Thanks for the helpful tips!! I tried the free rig but wasn't that impressed maybe I was using the wrong setup & not fishing it properly. Will give this ned rig method a try for sure!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!! 🤠👍

  6. I love the free rig. Same terminal as a drop shot, so two options with the same hook and weights. I use free rig both on spinning and casting. Spinning is 4-8lb test with 1/16-1/8 weight and light wire hook. Casting is 12-14lb test line with 1/4 weight and medium wire hook. I fish leafy muddy bottoms so the pencil weight doesn’t seem to collect as much gunk as the bullet shaped weight.

  7. I got on a great FREE rig bite once. I like it because you can use a heavy weight 3/8oz to 1/2oz to cast it really far with casting gear. The bait can still move around freely even with a heavy weight.

  8. Great vid as always Debo! I have tried the Free Rig multiple times, with little success, because I'm not sure how to work it. I'm trying to fish it almost like a C-rig, with the bait floating behind the weight. I asked Paul at AAA, & he said that's his plan. Did you worry about the bait floating up a certain distance, or fish it more like a Ned or Drop, & not worry about the bait getting distance from the weight? I'd appreciate your insight, & thanks for all the info you give us. Tight Lines!

  9. Been laid up for 3 months with a healing torn rotator cuff and surgery. I'm stoked to get out and do the free rig. Appreciate your showing us how to rig and use it. Love all of your videos Debo, thank you so much. An 83 year old Arkansas invalid.😂
