  1. Here's the big issues I have with this technology. As a co angler in the MLF, which I have enjoyed fishing in for nearly 30 years, now, the co angler is severely handicapped. How? The boater usually doesn't share their screen to give the co angler the same opportunity to catch fish.

In the rules, if a boater handicaps their co angler in any way, they could be disqualified. But it's not the boater that had done this! Since the co anglers fish from the back deck only, you can't see or use the technology that the boater has use of. We pay an entry fee just like the boater and yet, the boater has strict use of the technology and is not obligated to share it. I believe this is wrong!

The Rules need to change to reflect the common use of this technology for BOTH anglers! Either they both can use it or no one should be able to. If co anglers quit paying to enter the tournaments, the MLF would change the rules.

To me, the skills that we all put together over the years, the hours and money spent on the water to find those fish has been reduced to now, a Drop and Catch! No different than playing a fishing game on a computer on Easy Mode!

  2. If you are a professional bass fisherman, you shouldn’t need any electronics to catch fish. Your skill, learned over decades fishing a multitude of lakes and rivers should be enough. I’d rather be on my 10’ Jon boat, with my wit and my tackle, fishing. The hunt for bass is just as important as the catch. Learning a body of water and what the bass eat on that body of water is the true art of bass fishing. That said, I’ll watch YouTubers for tips and tricks, but I won’t watch pros that rely on ffs. I’m an over fifty bass fisherman that grew up watching Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, and Roland Martin. Real bass anglers.

  3. I fish lake Champlain year round with no spot lock or any fancy FFS and with lots of time in on lake I find plenty of tournament class bass. With that said if guys only have a few days to practice on many different lakes – good luck taking away all there tricks using electric gear. We might have to rethink what we want because with short time on lakes comes electronic. Need two different styles traditional verses new wave. And see who hits it out of the park. Then the people can determine the fate moving forward. We would find out what’s more interesting to watch.

  4. If you look at what has changed since you were competitive then you'll have to ban and change allot! Even if it's banned nothing will change! FFS doesn't always win……. some people just need an excuse for not being competitive any longer!

  5. It would be the same as the "A" rig ban but with the big manufactures of these products and the money they can make from them, these are not going to go away. I for one can't afford one of these units anyway. Committees don't accomplish much.

  6. This is absolutely nothing but more cancel culture ,I don't have it or don't like it or can't afford it so ban it . technology moves on and your either with it or not but if thru the years all the advances in fishing has been attacked then we wouldn't have it as good as we do ,no spot lock ,no power poles ,no gps ,no mapping and on and on .,All of the advances have changed fishing in some form or another just like everything else in the world including all forms of daily living..Just because you may have the latest and greatest you still have to entice them to bite and that is where the rubber meets the road .basically it's like sight fishing in deeper water ,so I guess next we need to ban polarized sunglasses so we can't see cruisers and ban topwater because someone may catch two.. my opinion is whole mess is ridiculous let life move on ,join it or move on.

  7. Why don't they split the winnings between the top FFS /L Scope guys and the top Bass Pros who don't use those technologies aka regular old school Pros like Randy?…….. or at least until they get this controversy ironed out.

  8. What good is advertising with a tournament trail or pro anglers hell the YouTube anglers and reviewers reach a hell of a lot more people.
If I’m interest in something I go to YouTube you get a better explanations than pros seem to put out.

  9. Look I think pros shouldnt be using gps, sonar, fish finders, trolling motors, I want to see a blast off in angler powered boats, no more gas and oil in my waters my home lake doesnt allow gas motors and its been this way for twenty years and now it's the
Most underrated best kept bass lakes in the entire country and that is why because it's clean no oil or gAs sheen on its loaded. With 10 to 15 lb largemouth

  10. By the time they get all. The data back they need it'll be too late for crappie that's for sure and there won't be those bass out in open water like there used to be it's going to take five years at least

  11. "If there's one guy out there fishing in the top 10 like a real angler fishes," I guess everyone else isn't a real angler, huh? Wow, Randy, that's a bold statement
