It was a bit of a two-horse race as Cole Floyd posted 87 pounds on 31 scorable bass in the first two hours alone, adding one more to his total while scouting for new water to finish second to Jeff Sprague with 89-12 on 32 scorable bass. Sprague went from second place and more than 20 pounds behind Floyd at the end of Period 1 to 17 pounds behind at the end of Period 2 before getting on the juice in Period 3 to top SCORETRACKER® with 97-1 on 29 scorable bass.

Meanwhile, a tiebreaker sets the scene on the Lucas Oil Cut Line as both Ott DeFoe and Fletcher Shryock finished the day with 33-12, DeFoe with 12 scorable bass and Shryock with 11. DeFoe currently holds the 25th-place position with a 10-ounce advantage on his biggest catch of the day, a 4-10 smallmouth.
