Bass NEVER See a Topwater Bluegill Lure

I LOVE topwater fishing! In today’s viDEBO I found some fish on the Berkley Choppo. Plopper style baits are a great way to cover water and find active fish!

  1. I think the Berkeley choppo is better than the river to sea whopper plopper.
I find I just always get more strikes and catch more fish with it than when I use the whopper plopper. Coincidence, maybe, but I just go with what seems to work for me.

  2. dont worry i have a lexa on a curado rod for swimbaits and umbrella rigs. my last fishing trip i got 1 1/2 hrs to fish got 5 bass ranging from 3/4lb to 1 1/2lbs. one on a shallow jerkbait, 2 on a squarebill, and 2 on a popper, they were going after bright flashy colors

  3. Got me at topwater 😂

Whopper have a size 60 now, which is even smaller .. but to me it tend to roll or want to roll (the body)

The spook is working for me

  4. Hey man take as much time as you need between videos. Family first. I’m sure there are plenty of people like me who simply appreciate that you’re making content in the first place. I’m always looking forward to your next vid 👊

  5. Good to see someone catching them on the choppo. Last fish I got on that lure was a rock bass a month ago. Before that, three river small mouth last November. That's it. Haven't had much action on it. I need to go back to that river spot soon.

  6. Nice to see you out feeshin! Thanks for the tip on the bass color. Glad your liking the updated rods. Tell Dizzle hi he must of watted since we did not see him catch anything. Hope your families and you guys have a great week!

  7. Threw everything I had in my tackle bag this past Sunday. Finally, before leaving tied on the choppo and still nada 😂 kids got a good laugh tho listening to the bait going thru the water lol

  8. Hey Debo hope things continue to pick up for you…"this (stuff) too shall pass!" Made an effort to fish the Rapala Skitter Walk and a Moonwalker spook type lure, both mainly for inshore fishing but have caught big bass on them!

  9. Thanks Devon, I know life does get in the way some times, hope everything is copesetic with you and your family, thanks for the Choppo video, I was hoping to see you take the same pattern in a few sizes and do some comparisons, maybe next time. thanks

  10. The vast majority of bass in any lake are dinks. Why do youtubers always apologize for that? Either that or they edit out the dinks so you THINK they only catch monsters.

  11. I have that exact choppo, same size and color. I've thrown it probably 6 times so far, but I haven't had a single bite on it yet. I'll get frustrated, switch to a jig and start catching them right away. Thanks for the video, definitely gave me confidence that the color and size can work!

  12. It is choppo time .i will throw them till the leaves start to fall.i dont throw the smaller size cause i use heddon tiny and baby torpedo and fish them the same way with a constant retrieve

  13. Just came back from fishing was throwing a ned rig and I had a fish on but it let go or pop off close to the bank so not sure what it was as my lake has trout and channel cats in it

  14. My son and I love to throw the choppo! He throws the leopard frog and I go bone or black! Nice easy bait for him to cast and reel and get a top water bite! The morning buzzbait bite has been good though the last month or so!!

  15. Any Topwater catch is exciting even the little guys. I tried a cheap Plopper style a while back and Man it twisted the heck outta my line and ended up losing it in a Tree across the River so yeah there’s that lol. I’ve had Luck with a little Ozark Trail popper and it has Eagle Claw hooks so sets really well when it does get hit. Great Day out my friend stay safe.
