For today’s challenge I am bass fishing with lures picked and sent in by subscriber NOR CAL ROD & REEL! The box of fishing lures contained some plastic worms, jigs, a spinnerbait, a frog, and a buzzbait. I was able to catch bass on both the plastic worms and the jig. Its always a challenge to fish with a new lures and I was happy to catch 3 bass today. For a rainy morning where cars where sliding off the road, I consider this a job well done. Thanks again to NOR CAL ROD & REEL for sending the lures in to the show. Its always a fun challenge to fish with lures picked by subscribers.

Nice
Two of my favorite things: Northern California and Realistic Fishing.
What weight bullet weight do you use
I love free stuff ! I usually get my stuff during low tide ha ha
Can you do a pond hopping video in a video soon?
Good Night, Congratulations, beautiful Video. π
Have a very successful week!
Hugs and Good Fish!ππ£
Great assortment of baits!! That jig was definitely effective in the grass and that looked like a great looking soft plastic worm! Another outstanding job!!
Where can one send you packages? I want to send you my next subscription of Karl's MTB.
Never disappointing Alex!
You got some nice lures bro
When I saw the worms, I thought "Oh Yeah, that's the ticket", and it didn't take long. A couple of times I didn't have my GoPro recording when I caught a fish, an easy mistake to make, but none the less, I was still annoyed with myself for overlooking that.
Spring Breeeeeeaaaak!
Since this is a Realistic show I've got something for you to try that I really catch fish with. About ten years ago I was bank fishing and I thought I spotted a crawfish on some rocks in the water, as I snuck up and got closer to it it turned out to be a popped red party balloon. Still had the knot that someone tied on it after blowing up the balloon and there was about 3 inches of shredded rubber after the knot.
Yep!! And no joke I Texas Rigged that f'n balloon with a 1-1/4" chunk of plastic worm and caught three nice Bass with it in a matter of minutes. Thinking that it was actually the chunk of worm that attracted the fish I took the worm off and caught more fish with just the shredded balloon. It actually changed the way I thought about bass fishing. I initially thought why bother with fishing and all the money I spend fishing when the stupid ass fish would eat a popped balloon!! I had been fishing for 45 years at that time and spent a miniature fortune on fishing.
Well I realized it was just a bait/lure and you still have to know where, when, and how to catch a fish. It's just one technique and there's still a lot of challenge when it comes to bass catching.
Peg a quarter ounce weight to your favorite worm hook. Cut off a one and a half inch chunk of your favorite beat up plastic worm (should be somewhat color appropriate to whatever molt/color season your craws are in) and thread the thicker cut off side of the worm to the front of the hook. Before you secure the thinner tip side of the worm to the hook Barb insert the shredded balloon knot through the open hook and place it at about the middle of the hook bend. The balloon should be color appropriate too, red, blue, black and the harder to find green and brown balloons. Now put the narrow tip side of the worm into the hook barb and you're weedless. I have caught fish with and without scent depending on how good the bite is. The true test is to catch one without scent. But as with all bass fishing if they're not biting their just not biting. But if the bite is on I guarantee you'll catch your first Balloon Bass or I'll buy your next combo.
Very cool nick for sending in the gear.
Great Video!! How far was the commute between the lakes you fished? Enjoyed
Nice video as usual. It took me a few years to get confidence in the jig but now I throw it almost every time out. Great lure. Keep it realistic. Tight lines bro.
Not a bad days catch. Great video as always man. Keep up the great work
Man I do like your vids. Keep em coming.
Really appreciate your channel. I think I have caught up on all the vids over the past month. My 5 year old son expressed an interest in fishing a bit ago and although I had not fished since I was a kid (and I was never very good at it), I jumped on it and ordered a cheap Ugly Stik combo online. We still haven't caught anything in freshwater, but your bank fishing, do it cheap realistic mentality gives me hope. Thanks for spending your time on your videos and channel.
I was hoping you would get to use every lure in one video, but that would be unrealistic.
Don't know if you ever use poppers but wanted your opinion. Split ring, or no split ring?
Good box of baits!
That jig had the longest skirt ive ever seen hahaha
Solid morning! π
you have some great subscribers!
I really like the wire weedguard on those jigs, great idea!!
Yes, another great example of realistic fishing; great job buddy.
Dang you got some good lures out of the mystery box nice one.
Nice! Those worms look awesome…I may have to look those guys up online and get a few bags in various colors. They would work well in my honey holes!
I always love the viewer challenges, awesome to see you crushing your jig curse. I'm not sure if that was 2 or 3 fish π€π€π€π€π€π€ that "2nd" one looked like another bass I saw on episode #1327. Well we will let the viewers decide πππππ¦ππ
I own two 3600 size boxes of jigs & have some unopened packages in my tackle cabinet. I throw them year round. But none of mine have a wire weed guard. I have to look into that.
Great Job Alex! I knew you'd do it with whatever is thrown at ya! Can't wait to see the video with the other lures!
That was a bunch of great lookin lures!!
Those worms look legit. I love Texas rigged roboworms.
Where is my bro Bro Manson
Those lures had some nice colors.
I just got my first decent frog fish on the bully wah. Great lure.
What rod and reel setup is that?
Hey buddy. Stopped by to say hello. Iβm a new sub. Fairly certain I met you in a live stream today.
I thought this was a good idea for a video. I enjoyed watching.
Every now and then when Iβm fishing and I donβt care about catching I throw the really odd baits I have. Maybe something I bought a really long time ago I thought was a good idea. Hahaha
Thanks for sharing.
Koozie was easily the best item. Lol
That jig seemed like a good lure
Awesomely done bro π. Keep'em coming. π£ππ£ππ£ππ£
I hear ya with the Early Cuyler hat. Thatβs realistic brother.
That worm looked way too juicy to not work π
