The bite turns on due to the drop in the barometric pressure. This affects their swim bladder. It shrinks it and they feel hungry. With the high pressure it expends their bladder and they feel full and don’t eat.

I have a question it might sound a little scattered but here's a example of my question I live in northern California and it's been a lot warmer and it's supposed to rain soon even if the water temperature is considered to low for fishing top water lures because of the rain or fronts coming in do you think top water would still be a option regardless of the water temperature??? Sorry I hope this made a little sense lol 😊

Those run off areas or river inlet ( as long as it’s not muddy ) are my favorite after rain ! Flip a topwater into the current let it flow out to an eddy give it a twitch n hold on !! I’ll be fishing in the rain all weekend, hopefully it’s a good one !!
I've been dying to get out to fish for steelhead but every time the river comes down and clears up some it rains again and floods. Ohio is so annoying! Lol.
