Great video Richard. Here in Florida we would use a Jigger pole (Long cane Pole wrapped from about halfway up the pole with Cordell 50 pound line run about twelve inches of the top with a Black Jitter bug tied to it and fish the edges of pads at night . Bass would kill it. )
The question is how many made it to the supper plate that night? 😉
I have caught fish on a jitter bug during the day and below a riffle cross cut across a stream or creek

I'm a spook fisherman through and through I learned how to walk the dog very early on and that's the one thing that keeps some people from fishing them as they don't want to learn how to walk the dog but it's easy it took me all about 5 minutes to learn how to do it and I'm not the most coordinated person in the world. But then they out I think the top best top water bait you're going to catch Big fish Little fish and everything in between for me has always been some type of walking bait.

I grew up fishing topwater with my late grandfather. Hearing Gene talk takes me back. We fished a “crippled killer” propellor bait. Papa J was always getting on me about fishing it (and everything else) too fast. Thanks, Gene. They are good memories.
Them jointed black jitter bugs at night is hard to beat. Can't tell you how many 4 plus pound bass they've caught me. At night. Middle of day too.
Man when they hit those Whopper Ploppers, they HIT em. That's what made me get a GoPro, but I can't bring myself to put my spot out there. Lol 😅 This video is great to watch. 👍👍
