  1. Who is the moron that came up with the stunted bass, yea maybe in a fish tank or 1 acre pond but stunted will never happen in big lakes, people are fing brain dead

  2. Randy, I moved to chickamauga 3 years ago and its easy to notice how it's harder to catch a bass,
Our local Thursday night fishing group had a under 2 pound bass win the championship this year, these are guys that grew up here.
I believe for the last 5 years with ffs the fish out deep are getting crushed witch means less fish shallow, after 5 years the fishing charts look level but actually fewer fish shallow and it will b a year or 2 the catch fishing charts are going 2 dump dramatically, sadly, it will b 2 late.

  3. No tournaments during the month of the spawn? Once again, you are locked into the closed minded thinking that the ONLY way tournaments handle fish is to haul them around in a live well. Why would CPR tournament fishermen be bound by the same rules as bucket fishermen and bass boat tournaments who kill more than their share? Stop being so insular and thinking only about one way tournaments are run. Some of us already are doing things RIGHT.

  4. Absolutely the lakes can manage themselves assuming the habitat has the local species's it naturally should have. Mother nature's been doing this without humans a looong time! It doesn't need us to manage it, that's a joke! Maybe it needs managed after we put wrong species in a habitat it naturally shouldn't be in, but that's our fault for messing up the balance

  5. I agree with every point, except one. FFS was not developed by the government, so the government should not be the only ones who can use it. The last thing we need is more government…..in ANY fashion. We, the fishing community, are either going to govern our sport and do the right thing when it comes to sustainable fishing, or the sport will suffer. I agree with the stocking programs. One thing we can do to improve the catch rates is stocking more aggressive strains of Bass like Wipers (some people say Stripers) and the F12 Bass from the crossing of a Northern Strain male and Florida strain female. Both fish are aggressive and are caught more often when stocked. Building more lakes requires money, and right now our National debt makes that unlikely. It’s a good idea, but doing so will be extremely expensive, and the money is simply not there.

  6. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife does a great job. I can’t say enough good about them. I’d love for them to just set aside areas of our lakes during that key spawning period. I can think of several bays in Kentucky lake that are prime spawning ground, put buoys in front of them the way we do for waterfowl. I’d also like for them to move toward boat limits versus individual limits. On my local lake, 10 people in a pontoon can keep like 150 crappie!

  7. The live scope might increase the amount of fish caught but its expensive and most fisherman with a small boat or kayak are not using it ,when it gets cheaper more people will buy it, the catch and release people with live scope should not be hurting fish numbers much when using it for shallow fish, they say pulling fish from deep water can kill fish but not sure how sensitive bass are, i seen guys pulling catfish from deep water and they release them and they look fine but its hard to know if they are ok unless they put a electronic tracker and see if they survive

  8. State wildlife officials don’t have the courage to improve our lakes. When I suggested that Lake Fork should have a rotating off limits area each year from March through April, that the number of tournaments should be severely limited, and no tournaments from mid June on, the outcry from biz owners around the lake was disgusting. They prefer to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.

  9. Mr Blaukat. How much do the bass fishing professional organizations, MLF,BPT, Toyota series, etc. etc. give back to conservation efforts. I did a cursory search and can’t really find any info.
Also the big fishing retailers, Bass Pro Shops, Sportsmen warehouse, etc, etc, should also be more involved.
    Just my thoughts

  10. NOW NO MORE KIDS CAN FISH IN THE SPRINGTIME WITHOUT A GOVERNMENT PERMIT. ANOTHER LIBERAL VIEWPOINT, THEY ALWAYS WANT MORE REGULATIONS BECAUSE THEY HAVE THEIR OWN "FACTS". ALL LAKES DEGRADE WITH AGE. YOU KNOW MORE THAN ALL BIOLOGISTS WHO WORK 24/7 FOR THE GOOD OF OUR NATURAL RESOURCES. ALL THE BOAT DOCKS YOU HATE ARE BASS HABITAT. BASS AND CRAPPIE STILL TASTE GREAT. HOW MANY BASS HAVE YOU AND YOUR DAD EATEN OVER THE YEARS. YOU JUST ADMITTED EATING BASS FROM YOUR POND…..

  11. The organizations would still be able to have tournaments all 12 months out of the year even avoiding the main month of spawn for any particular area! Just have the tournaments in another location of country during spawn in another. It's simple! I don't believe they will ever do it though unfortunately. I'm a Kayak angler & I always catch and release largmouth. I will keep striper some times but that's probably about 1/3 Rd of time I catch them. In lake Murray I will keep spotted bass, but that's because they want you to. Spotted bass are not native & can overtake largemouth lakes. They want people to keep the spots to help get rid of them! Lake Russell is absolutely over ran with spots, it's hard to catch largmouth unless u get to dirty water. That lake is mostly clear

  12. I wonder if there is a plant that could create a structure that makes it impossible to fish threw but gives safety to fish I Fish a Lake down here in Texas only 50 acres 25 foot at the deepest full of Hydrilla I think the Hydrilla gets this way because it’s next to a cattle ranch I don’t know if the manure causes crazy growth in the Hydrilla when it rains but in the summer unless you know where to go and what baits to use it’s almost impossible to catch fish there but once you do figure it out God the Fishing is amazing in the winter time most of the Hydrilla dies giving opportunities to catch this fish with different techniques, jerk baits, rattletraps but during the summer, it’s almost impossible to catch them have to use Big Swimbaits in the summer it kind of pisses me off when I see a guy carrying off a 4 or 5 pound bass in a bucket to carve up
