Bass Fishing out of a Hobie PA17

There isn’t very much footage out there of people bass fishing out of a Hobie Pro Angler 17, so I took out Mariner Sail’s PA 17 and did some bass fishing out of it. I showed the loading and unloading of the kayak and I was incredibly surprised. This kayak is really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I will be taking this out again and talking more about the trailer its on and showing its tandem purpose as well. The trailer makes this kayak very usable. I hope you enjoyed this video and I look forward to bringing you more content on this kayak and others. God Bless!

  1. I had a Hobie when I lived in Waimea, Kauai.went out early one morning, not paying attention I got swamped by a big wave. Lost a trolling motor, battery, fishing poles. But lived to tell the tell

  2. I loved your review. I’ve always wanted to see a review on this boat. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but I think I’m going to get two 14’s . I think the only drawback might be loading and unloading. Are you sure Roy Clark isn’t your dad ? He too is a good looking guy. Thanks again !

  3. Costs the same as (or more than) a boat too!

It’s pretty sexy, I won’t lie, and of course Hobie is the best. But for the size/weight, trailering requirement & need to be cautious where & how you stand and move…I think I would stick with a Jon boat. Or what about a Roundabout for 1/3 the price of a PA?

There’s a time & place for kayaks, just as for boats of all types. To me personally the PA 17 sort of combines the negatives of both kayaks and boats.
