Join me, Brad, and Jack as we head up north to my familyโs private lake for an awesome fall bass fishing trip. Both Brad and Jack brought their boats, and we had a blast fishing in cool, 59-degree water. The bass were biting hard, and Brad broke his personal best (PB) twice, landing 6 lb and 6.6 lb monsters! Jack also hit a new PB with a 5.5 lb bass. I managed to catch a nice one over 5 lbs on a small swimbait, and we even hooked some aggressive pike, which I later cooked up by the fire.
This lake holds a special place in my heart, not just for fishing but for its future. Over the years, weโve had some devastating fish die-offs due to nutrient pollution from nearby farmland runoff. My goal is to protect the lake and the surrounding land by transitioning to regenerative farming and cattle grazing to stop the harmful algae blooms that have caused those die-offs.
