Bass Fishing New Melones Lake California 12 12 2023

I headed up to New Melones and launched out of the Glory Hole ramp. Winter is getting close but the bite is still on. I put 8 bass on the boat and 2 trout. The lure of choice by the fish was a Damiki Vault Blade Bait in Black Holo 3/8 oz. 7 of the fish were caught on the blade bait, 2 on a silver spinnerbait, and 1 on a squarebill crankbait. I did have some trouble with my rear-mounted camera. Somehow it got into the photo mode instead of the video mode so when I pressed the button to start recording all it did was take one picture. I did not realize the issue until it was too late. I was able to capture some of the fish with my hat-mounted camera.
Weather was not too bad with temps ranging from about 40 up to 55. The water temp was right around 55, and the wind was very light.
I made some big changes to my kayak adding dual Bixpy K1 motors and re-doing my rod management setup. I will post an overview of the changes soon. I still pedal most of the time but the motors have really helped my time to location and range a lot. My first outing with the motors was on Don Pedro and I covered 15 miles fairly easily. Compare that to my previous longest outing of 12 miles, pedals only, and that trip was very tiring.
