Bass Fishing New Melones Lake California 08 24 2025

I was out of action for a couple of weeks because my truck was in the shop. I got it back in good working order on Friday and headed up to New Melones on Sunday. Here are a dozen of the fish I caught. There are some nice ones and some small ones. At the 10:30 mark, there is a bit of a surprise fish. I was throwing a Fire Craw bladed jig with a heavy hook. I had to swap the lure after this fish because the hook was badly bent out of shape. It was a 6+ lb catfish. They are not as fast or lively as bass, but they are solid muscle, and it was a blast to catch.
