Bass Fishing New Melones Lake California 01 06 2025

Happy New Year!! New Melones Lake shut down due to the Golden Mussel infestation in the California Delta and requires boats to be red-tagged for 30 days prior to launching. The good news is kayaks do not require tagging. I have fished the lake about 5 times and seemed to have the lake to myself each time. Here is some footage as well as still pics from all the trips. I tried a new camera mount, but the angle is terrible, and I will not use it anymore. I believe the final fish count for the 5 trips is 29. This included a couple of Largemouth and the rest all spots. Fish are nice and chunky this time of year, and it was a blast catching them all.
