When I was a kid I was obsessed with catching a bass for year before I finally got one! In this video I share some simple tips and tricks on how to start targeting them with bait from the beach.

🇮🇪 Irish Bass Conservation & Bye Laws

Sea bass are a protected species in Ireland, so it’s important that we all do our part to look after the fishery.

Current regulations include:

✅ Minimum size: 42 cm
✅ Maximum retention: 2 bass per angler in any 24-hour period (when retention is permitted).
🚫 No bass angling between 15th May and 15th June (annual spawning closure).
🎣 During periods where catch-and-release rules apply, all bass must be returned carefully. Always check the latest Inland Fisheries Ireland regulations before fishing, as EU measures can change.

Even when it’s legal to keep fish, I always encourage careful fish handling and only taking what you genuinely need.
