Hell yea man. Great to see you in the Vero Area. Right up A1A from Barber Bridge is long point state park and the Sebastian river, both spots are great fishing for trout reds and snook. Or south is harbor branch and the ft.pierce turning basin, both known for big fish.

I was fishing in Boca Ciega in may with an older friend, and had a dolphin pop up and exhale like 5 ft from the boat. I seriously thought my friend was going to have a heart attack. Awful stealthy for such big creatures.

South Florida is the best damn place to live and fish.
Best bass lure in the salt? Rapala #13 floating minnow stick bait. Trout love it fished over shallow grass flats. It’s balsa wood thus on a pause it pops up to the surface very quickly. That seems to trigger big trout to blast it. However my go to hard jerkbait is the Yo-Zuri crystal minnow – I’ve caught so many saltwater fish on that lure it’s worth its weight in gold. Also don’t forget soft jerkbaits where originally a bass lure too. Snook and bass aren’t much different – both love structure, have large mouths and thus will bite just about anything when hungry or aggressive. However they also share the annoying trait of completely shutting down at times (cold fronts) and refusing to eat.
