My first trip up to Lake McClure this year proved to be a good one. I caught 8 spotted bass in the 2 to 3 lb range. On top of that, it was a beautiful sunny day. All of the fish were caught on a Bleeding Shad spinner bait. I would cast perpendicular to the shore and then slow my retrieve down the closer it got to the kayak so it would run close to the bottom. I launched from the Horseshoe Bend ramp and fished out to the Hunters Point Rec Area.
