BASS FISHING IN THE HEART OF AUSTIN, TEXAS! ๐ฃ๐ค
While visiting family in Austin, Texas, I couldnโt resist booking a half-day bass fishing trip on Lady Bird Lake with a professional fishing guide. I had never fished this lake before, so I was really looking forward to seeing what it was all about.
But this wasnโt your typical bass fishing tripโฆ
Fishing with the Austin skyline towering above us, surrounded by skyscrapers, bridges and the city of Austin, felt almost surreal. One minute youโre watching your line for a bass and the next youโre looking up at downtown skyscrapers! (Missing a few bites offcourse)
August in Austin brought us a proper Texas summer day โ๏ธ๐ฅ, so we opted for a half-day on the water rather than battling the intense midday heat for an entire day.
The fishing was a lot of fun, and we managed to get into some good bass. And then came the one that got awayโฆ ๐ฉ
I hooked into a BIG bass, only to have the line snap and watch the fish disappear. Thatโs fishing โ and Iโll definitely be thinking about that one for a while!
It was an incredible experience combining two of my favourite things: fishing and exploring new places. If youโve never fished Lady Bird Lake, fishing for bass beneath the Austin skyline is definitely something worth experiencing.
