Bass Fishing In Northern Wisconsin

I was up north in the area again so I decided to go try out another WI Lake. I mainly fish smaller lakes because I fish out of a kayak to stay away from rough waters and other boat traffic. Do you think I should be fishing larger bodies of water? Maybe these smaller lakes only hold bass around the 2lbs range?
