Bass Fishing in BOILING HOT WATER??? (WHY are they still Biting…)

Bass fishing in a freaking HOT TUB!!! Before today, the warmest water I had ever fished was in the mid-low 80s… Fishing with LakeForkGuy, we tackled a power plant lake in Texas with water temps that nearly reached 100 degrees!!! One would think boiling hot water would completely shut down the bass bite, but amazingly, that was not the case. However, these RIDICULOUS water temps yielded another challenge, an obstacle that made it nearly impossible for us to land these chunky bass…

  1. Power plant lakes are crazy. I fish Squaw Creek in north Texas and the fish start spawning in February. It's really weird to go out there when all other lakes are 50 degrees or colder and the water there will be 75-80 degrees.

  2. Question: Why do you not carry a net?  I have landed plenty of fish that I wouldn't have because I carry a net.  Is it a pride thing?  Or can you not because of tournaments?  If I can ever fish as a career or make enough money to fish local clubs on the weekend, I definitely plan on having a good net…

  3. i cant imagine what that does to the water or the ecology of the area, i never fish in the city or near industrial zones, only thing i worry about is farm runoff

  4. anyone find the fact that 95 degree water would cause a fish kill?
as the temperature of a liquid increases the ability to dissolve a gas decreases. in other words the water would have to be oxygenated very well or the fish would die and they tipcally aren't active due to lack of oxygen in the water.

  5. Is that a nuclear power plant near the rock wall you guys were fishing, at 7:45?
You could fish at night if it is, since the fish would glow in the dark! lol!

Those smells are probably from an agri-business area and as my dad would say,
    that's God's country!
