  1. Watching from New Zealand. We have been using gulp 4 and 5 inch gulp softbaits for sea fishing. We use similar tackle. But I use 10lb fireline braid with 20lb fluorocarbon. We're just starting to use these worms, whole new world. Thanks

  2. If you have a Soft Plastic worm that naturally wants to float, and you add a weight which naturally wants to sink
, you have two diametrically opposed forces that can be Tweaked so precisely that you can laterally set the depth at which your lure will be "Neutrally Buoyant"

  3. Since you embedded the hook into the body of the worm, what's the function of the o-ring? By the way, I really like your videos, but usually prefer the shorter ones since I usually have to squeeze it into short spare times.

  4. Gene I have to agree with how you rig the hook into the bait more than anyone else I've seen. I feel like just getting the normal o ring or skin hook, the hook point is burying into the bait when setting the hook if they are deep or close to the boat. I was trying to do a sweep hookset until I started rigging them like you do. Now I feel like I can set the hook in either direction with a great hookup percent. Thanks for the great vid!

  5. I’m 65 years old, I’ve been fishing for a long time (doesn’t mean I’m good). I DO know that the hook you showed is a POS for multiple reasons.
Each and every bend is a strike against that hook.
If you haven’t broken any, you haven’t used them very much.
Placing the point of the hook directly in line with the pull of the line.

  6. Gene, where you in GA? I come, you take me fishing. I yo Grandpa. I'll be a suckeggedmule, heat hook, eh? Good idea. I caught a nice bluegill recently in neighbor's pond using neko rig.
