  1. Those are good modifications, I've used most of them, that cutting one skirt shorter than the other is a new one to me that I must try. One issue that we frog fishermen deal with is the frog filling with water, we have to squeeze the water out after a few cast, which I call "making the frog pee", which is why the Snagproof Phat Frog has quickly become my favorite. They have a separate air chamber that is separate from the hook chamber, so I don't have to make them pee.

  2. Ahhhhh – Hahhhh, its a "weight modification hole!" Here I thought it was a butt plug! ;-p.
Then again a butt hole is for weight modification, and this hole sure looks plugged! ;-p

  3. Hey Debo got another question for you. Just got the Reaction Innovations Swamp Donkey and well Im have trouble “ walking the dog” any tips you can help me out with??? Can’t get it to go side to side. Thanks Bro and keep up the Great Work FEESHING FRIEND 💯🤘🎣

  4. Hey man love your stuff. What’s the name of the frog your modding it’s basically the only color way I’ve found that works in my area for me. May be a confirmation bias but hey I wouldn’t mind five more

  5. I actually like the leg action, since it causes a little spit of water behind the frog. Adding BBs does give you various actions too with the back end sitting down. Thank you for sharing.

  6. I cut the legs on all of my frogs. I add 3-4 BBs if I’m fishing THICK vegetation. I have heard about bending the hooks up but haven’t tried it yet because I haven’t had much problem hooking up.

  7. just picked up this frog youre demonstrating on last week. Thanks for the tips. i used orange beads inside the frog, dipped in bluegill guts. my frog doesnt have much time in the water, bass are striking quickly.

  8. After buying some frogs yesterday THAT YOU MADE ME BUY by watching your most recent vid, I went feeeshin and got 5 nice strikes on 3 different frogs. No hookups. Wtf? I forgot to make the hook mods you suggested. Duh. I'll try again with the mods.

  9. 'Oops missed it…. that was supposed to be a……. an action shot.' LOL. Great video. This year is the year we figure out the frog in my house! Did a little frigging last year. My wife was more successful than me, but this year it's on! Thanks for the great info!

  10. Love Frogs and agree totally about the legged frogs. The hook ratio is super bad plus those Bass can hit like a ton of bricks and the legs get broken or ripped off and your out a few bucks. I acquired a few dozen older legged frogs and with a little surgery I put them old stringy legs on most of them. Northern Michigan is great for frogging in those heavy weeds and Lilly pads. Great video and Happy New Year and just so you know we got about 8 inches of new snow tonight

  11. I have a couple of slightly different methods for adding sound to my frogs; though your method is perfect as is.
    1. I insert 1 or 2 of those glass rattles for soft baits into the cavity. Because the BB's are smaller and contained in glass, they create more sound, won't fall out, weigh the frog down less, and since they don't get wet the BB's won't stick to each other and roll around as one piece.
    2. If I am putting loose BB's into the cavity, I only put in a couple and add a few plastic beads or small flat plastic buttons. By adding the plastic along with the metal BB's you get the sound without the extra weight plus they tend not to all stick together (especially with the flat buttons).

Another fishing "hack" that I have done to either repair a ripped "weight addition hole" (lol, love your name for it) or just to plug the hole to allow less water to get into the cavity is to use a piece of a trashed plastic worm. To do this: 1) cut a very short piece off the nose of the worm. 2) slice it long ways halfway through the piece (don't cut it in half, just filet it open). 3) pull the body of the frog up a little bit and wrap the cut plastic around the hook shanks where the body and hooks naturally intersect. 4) add a drop of super glue to join the two halves together. I have used a cigarette lighter to melt the halves together too in a pinch. 5) once joined, slide the frog body back down and around the midway point of the plastic worm piece. Ready to continue fishing!
It's not a 100% water tight seal, but it does a pretty good job and takes only a dozen or so seconds to complete. Most of the time the fix will last through several hook-ups before needing to be redone. It has extended the life of many of my expensive frogs that I just wasn't ready to part with yet because of a tear.

  12. Love this video Debo. Just started back bass fishing again this year after laying off the last 20 or so. I'm also a golf nut, had a career, raised a kid, etc. Now I'm totally addicted again. In my previous incarnation, we didn't even have these frogs. I have one just to check them out & will use your tips! It's fun tho using new high speed reels & carbon graphite rods. Before, it was an ambassador 5000, 5000 c or d and Lew's speed sticks w/ pistol grips. I did just buy an Academy 7' classic h20 express fiberglass rod to have one in the new collection. $15 over Labor Day. Oh yeah! You think it might make a frog rod? It's medium fast, but glass is stiffer?

  13. Great video, I also use bb's for the noise and weights and trim the legs the same way as well as removing 2 to 3 strands to help it sit a little lower in the water. It gives it great action on the walk. I like the support you give the newbie anglers, keep it up.

  14. New tip on frog modifications here ——> If you cut 2 or three plastic hairs from the top of the frog feet (both feet) it helps doing the walk the dog with a frog more better with less twitching and you notice it will go a lil bit under water from the rear when u stop only when u stop and it just hangs there (not to much where the whole frog goes underwater) and the legs spread like a jig sometimes that helps get more strikes and that way you can have even legs too , sometimes you might need to cut more hairs depending on your frog but tie it up and cut 3 (from both feet) and see how u like it its a (pro fishermans tip) i saw GREG HACKNEY do it on a bass fishing show i saw and ive never seen anyone do it on youtube as a tip hope this works for you guys like it did for me and hope u guys get some hogs

  15. Entertaining and informative, good combo! Watch your rod reel combo video last night👍 I think all mine are almost Identical to you rod set ups! Nice job👍👍

  16. As soon as I see top water explosion , I’m switching over to top water .. I love watching top water strikes , I love the way they’re so forgiving if you miss the first strike , they offer so many chances after the initial first miss
