Bass Fishing For 6 lb Smallmouth | Swimbaits, Crankbaits and 100 Mile Runs!

100 miles through floating debris fields, 44 degree temps, but the Smallmouth were chewing! Tim caught his 7 lber the evening before so no matter what was in front of us we were going to make it back for more!

The smallmouth were sitting on current seams and ledges in 5 to 18 feet of water. We used a combination of swimbaits and crankbaits to trigger the schools into feeding and then the slugfest began! This was one of the most viscious feeding sessions we’ve ever seen with smallmouth bass.

  1. My buddy and I are heading down to Dworshak this weekend to chase some big smallies. Any help on where to start or some tips would be greatly appreciated!! We've only been there once before and couldn't get a pattern going. Thank you!

  2. Tore the ass end out of my ranger hitting a submerged log watching this made the hairs on my neck stand up . lucky we were only about a half mile from launch to get it back on trailer it was a total made me sick !

  3. Hey Matt hey Tim how you guys doing? I have a question, do you guys make your own background music? If not I was wondering if you guys would be willing to help me find the music you used for this video? That would be awesome! And FYI I think this video is my favorite clip out of all your tactical bass in videos! Thank Matt thanks Tim sincerely Gary Schmidt from Lake of the Pines CA!

  4. I have been watching you guys for years and given likes to a many videos actually I like them all. You don't have to give use GPS cordinance but at least tell us the big lakes like this you are fishing? Thanks you so much for safety tips. Also I understand the liability of it because if someone broke down on this lake on this day they could get hypo thermal at night and die! Please just let us know what big lakes you are fishing on. Thank you so much for your contribution to the bass fishing community!

  5. I know you guys dont seem to ever go up to shasta which I could understand why considering the lakes you guys are by but it was so much worse than that lake with logs from all the rivers. I saw some crazy boat crashes from some subsurface stuff thats a crazy long run with that much crap in the water.

Looks a lot like Dworshak reservoir, when you say 100 miles round trip in a day that is a dead giveaway. But a 50 mile run up to fish is a little much, there are closer spots than that.

  7. It always amazes me at how aggressive smallmouth are. On the black river here in AZ they are so viscous all the time there definitely one of my favorite bass species to catch.

  8. What is the advantage to using the 6" basstrix versus a 4.8 keitech or something similar? I dont have any confidence in a basstrix and would use a keitech instead. Whats the difference other than type of swimbait and shape of course?
