Bass Fishing – Catching Giants When Spillway Gates Open

This was a long awaited series of trips to the spillway after the gates finally opened. Florida has been in a severe drought until recently. I’ve been fishing this spillway for about 6 months, dreaming of what it would be like when the gates opened up. The rains came, and the spillway did not disappoint.

  1. That said 5.14. Not 6 not sure how 5.14 equals 6 that’s some different math than what I learned apparently and I’m a full time fisherman year round so I’ve weighed few fish and 5.14 is not 6lbs

  2. If you where fishing stock hooks on that lipless then they need to be changed I probably have over 200 lipless cranks an have caught atleast 100 bass over 5lb on lipless cranks alone an they all have aftermarket hooks on them.
