  1. Put 8lb test on your light rod. Plus there's a special way to put line on YouTube that's effective. It holds strong that way if a fish pulls out all your line your fishing line won't break off. Or, at least a minimal 6lb line. No lighter than 6. 4 or 2lb line is way too light. I noticed you catch a lot of tanks on your ultra-light spinning rod and reel

  2. A soft plastic salamander in spring when bass are breeding. The bass are protecting their eggs from a natural predator and will violently hit the salamander. Sometimes they aren't trying to eat the bait but drive it to the bottom to crush it. But a very effective seasonal bait.

  3. Nick, just found your channel about a moth ago and must say I really like the time and energy you put in to make the videos interesting.
PS now every time you release a fish you have me saying right along wit you. "See ya later buddy" lol.

  4. get yourself a small block of wood, dont paint it or anything just add some hooks to it… That block of wood will catch bass, all u gotta do is the same topwater tricks u normally would and they will definitely bite it. Bass are not smart lol

  5. First time watching one of your videos. Waa definitely entertaining but #1 why would you try to catch bass on a top water lure on super light tackle. That's why you had trouble with hooksets and #2 I'm not sure if you get free lures or just have a super hookup but $15 is definitely not expensive for a lure.

  6. Hey Nick do you ever get out to Carlyle lake I'm thinking about checking it out maybe we could link up and do some fishing. I like using Ultra light set ups makes bass fishing more fun

  7. You're using 4lbs test? That's actually borderline unethical and really unfair to the fish. If you're bass fishing, you should never be using line that light even if you think you're drag can handle it. A bigger fish can easily break that line and then end up dying with a lure stuck in its mouth. That's ridiculous, maybe you get one or two less bites on heavier line, but you don't risk dead fish.

  8. Nick…need some help. New to fishing so bear with me. I bought one of the crawdad lures (same one as used in video). Is it supposed to be "top water"? I've never seen a crawdad swimming at the surface, only on or near the bottom. This floats. I added some split shot to get it to sink, but all I've caught is a few "stick fish". Do you just reel it in on top of water and they will come up to it, or reel it quickly to try to get it to sink? What is the proper method? Looks like you just throw it out there and reel it in. Am I overthinking this? I've only done the "bobber/live bait" stuff before. What am I doing wrong?
