You have to remember that anglers are sub contractors and mlf is just the rules committee like teams and the NFL so you as a company owner let some one tell you how to run your company with out putting up a fight

1st of all, I am 100% a fan of James Watson. I am also a fan of the MLF Pro Tour, and I have supported MLF since it was created.
Although it's not a popular opinion, I agree with your assessment, and I think it's spot on. I can only imagine what most of these people commenting would say if James Watson worked for them and made hats with their intials in the same format and would say its ok, if James got mad at them. We all know what they would do.
James was successful before fishing and didn't need fishing to make a living. He's already stated that he's already figured out a very lucrative money making thing after the MLF. That's on top of his already lucrative Real Estate business.
I will definitely miss his personality and sometimes over the top comedy.

First of all I think your sucking up to Boyd. You have a channel and you need content so you can't burn any bridges. James is a real estate mogul and obviously doesn't need MLF. With everything Boyd has pulled the last 2 years and you think James is wrong? If anyone other than Wheeler or DC doesn't speak up they are cowards. Boyd protects those 2 btw. You ever think maybe James knew this would happen and actually got his remaining entry fees back…smart move just to stick it to Boyd one more time. I think he did the right thing to draw attention and did it the right way. It was a quick attention getter to show that fishing tournaments are not geared to keep fisherman in a career, your treated like a truck driver and MLF was suppose to be no entry fee like PGA golf and take care of the guys that made it. Since James was not going to be invited back due to his results. This seem like a made up plan to get himself suspended and make the most press about it. About his only choice now would be NPFL since I doubt he could qualify for the Elites through the opens. He will do some podcasts and social media then fade into the background. Luckily he is very well off. He lives in a mansion and is building another next door.
If you work for someone you can’t bash them publicly and not expect consequences. Punishments seem pretty inconsistent with MLF ( and other pro leagues ) but punishments should be expected for this type thing

Watson is ok in the bank department has been for years . I think derby fishing is more of a hobby to him instead of most that really need to cash a check. Andrew Upshaw turned Bryan New in for blowing out a bed on Sante Cooper I believe it was. B.A.S.S. disqualified him he protested but it was upheld. Lot folks giving Upshaw hard time for it but he done right thing morally and per rules. Anglers are required to say something if they see it besides New just didn;t want Upshaw to catch the 6 lb'er he blew out as well as another pro that was fishing in same area .
