On this adventure I decided on a last minute trip, I left straight after work and didn’t have much time for dark. Luckily the first camp was available and had about a half hour before darkness, I quickly set up, put up the bear hang – then enjoyed a relaxing fire. After a long day work, all the last minute packing I was ready for bed!
The next day was a morning trippers live for, water like glass, beautiful fall colors AND tail wind. I set off early, and as it was shallow, weedy – So I explored more than fished, after 3 hours I made it down to the area where there are many islands, and established campsite to choose from. The fishing got better the further down I went. Day two the campsite was gorgeous, and was a nice relaxing night, good meal too,.
The final day started off with a 3 degree morning & thick fog, but when the sun peaked over the treeline it was truly one of the best mornings I’ve had in awhile. I think I will have to come back and explore further down and beyond.
Highlights for me: the otters, the overhang rain shelter and catching a PB Bass that I didn’t get on film and lost as I could pull up the rock face and net before it came off. The 2nd smaller one flopped around and again couldn’t net in time. Single barbless hooks make it a tad trickier too. Still had a lot of fun and I know I will get a Walleye next time! ๐ช๐ผ

Looks like you had a great trip Curtis. Nice weather is always a bonus. Cheers my friend!
What a great little trip, i am going to get out to temagami again next season. Great job on all the camera angles and looks like you sorted out your canoe tripod situation ๐๐
I can find 0 info on this park. I suppose it is just day use and backcountry?
Weather looks so nice ! That sunrise was โจโจ๐๐๐๐๐

Nice shooting on this one! You were really blessed with great weather and great sites on Wicksteed. Bass fishing was not too shabby either. Love those crisp mornings with mist. Bacon sounded perfectly cooked too! Always a treat to see otters as well. Hopefully you can get in another trip or two before freeze up! Thanks for taking us along Curtis. ๐
