Arizona has swamps with Giant Bass!

In today’s video, we head down to Fisher’s Landing to fish the Martinez Lake area on the Lower Colorado River, just north of Yuma, Arizona. This hidden oasis in Southern Arizona feels more like the Florida Everglades than the desert Southwest, with miles of backwaters, grass, and prime habitat for trophy largemouth bass.

Martinez Lake is truly a bass fishing paradise and one of the most unique fisheries in the Southwest. If you’re serious about Arizona bass fishing, this is a place you need to know about.

Build a solid 5-bass bag

The morning started slow as we experimented with different patterns trying to unlock the big bass bite. After cycling through several approaches, we finally made the right adjustments and the bite turned on. By the end of the day, we had put together a solid five bass limit and located some key areas that could play in a tournament scenario.

Techniques that produced:
Swimbaits
Senkos (soft stickbaits)
Multiple additional presentations to trigger pressured fish

We also found some incredible hidden stretches tucked deep into the backwater ponds the kind of areas that can hold winning fish.
