If Bassmaster was smart they’d start a FFS league and one that doesn’t allow it and milk it from both ends 🤷🏽♂️
Only tournaments for aarp eligible. Flat boats only. No trolling motors. A coffee can for anchors. No electronics. Maximum 5 hp motors . Must wear those old orange life vests ( the ones that choke you). Limited to one fishing pole. (Cane poles are allowed). Limited to 5 artificial lures. No extra lures. Catch and immediate release (after weighing and taking picture). No shot gun starts. Partners have to switch ends of boat after every fish caught. (So no unfair advantage). All winnings go to charity.
Went back today and watched the 2015 Classic. Back when bass fishing was FISHING!

BASS should no longer say it's the " bassmasters elite series" it' should be called the "GRAPH MASTERS" Elite series. They are literly having graph tournaments. It's who is best at LiveScope. That's what it's became. Rediculas.
I have 1 hour of free time before work each morning. I use to watch the local news. But hated it. Now i just watch Randy every morning for 1 hour. Keep up the good work Randy. I really enjoy all you content. Jason from Arkansas.
Bass fishing has taken on to further or add new bass fisherman, we live in a technology era and draw new and young people is by technology to hook them. It is also like at jobs, you have people that been there for 20 or more years and do the same thing every year but complain they don’t get anything. Then you have people that been at jobs for over 20 years the reinvent themselves and further themselves. Who do you think is going to be better. All sports, including bass fishing is a sport, they are all making rules and changes for more offense, bass is no different, more offense is catching more bass.
Randy I’m close to your age and I’m really enjoying these young guys. It’s different times. Theses kids are traveling to all the major bass lakes and getting experience from high school & college tournaments. They are far more experienced then you and I were at their age. With all the info here on YouTube and experience in big tournaments from High School on they are the real deal.

I do not believe so. It’s all about the $$$! Organizations can’t afford to rock the sponsorships. The big 3 are huge sponsors of pro fishing. The only way I see spotlighting being banned is if interest in pro fishing tanks or if each states DNR bans it!

Organizers should look at other pro sports like PGA and Nascar Both have serious limitations on technology advancements to maintain traditional values
Unfortunate that we're seeing guys like Hackney, Swindle, Reese, Defoe, and others start to become "irrelevant" but I dont see it changing. To much money involved.

Randy, the only way the tournament organizations are going to ban for facing sonar. If they’re ratings go way down. If it doesn’t, your timers are in deep trouble.

It’s pretty simple… boycott BASS, and like organizations and all of their sponsor’s! Don’t watch the tournaments, and from here on out, stop buying all of the products connected to the organization! Hit em where it hurts, in their wallet! Look what happened to Bud Light and other companies pushing sh*t that the consumer disagrees with! At this point, a mass boycott is the best way to stop the insanity that is FFS/Live Scope in professional fishing!
I also look for a new tournament trail to open up within 2 years and they will take over most of the sport..old school..they will take TV by storm..I say this because the bait casters are not going quietly..you will watch the next trail to learn..with all electronics be phone FFS or any other you stop learning then and there..

The companies need to push out non tech users so that they create a codependency on the sonar use. It's just about their bottom line
There are about 6 more Japanese coming that will show these boys how to use electronics..in 2 years it will be a 17 to 20 year old sport..and they are not going to be fisherman..and what is really funny is that you won't need a MC how long can people listen to someone talk about a screen and a soft plastic minnow..at the classic no need to sell anything but a soft minnow and a glide bait..by the middle of 2025 the lure ..rod..reel..line..ect.ect..company's are going to feel a big big hit..It all flows south..
I'm 60 and have been fishing tournaments since the 80's. Our world has evolved since we all have been born. Either adapt or retire. Or you can make a tournament trail for over 50 year Olds. Technology today will be stiff different as soon as 10 years from now. Stop belly aching and learn
The issue Rabdy is that the tournament organizations are intentionally trying to go to a younger demographic and they're going to push out the older anglers because the demographics are skewing younger.

Ben Milliken is in his 30's, he isn't a spring chicken. He will kick your teeth In with or without livescope, but he went and learned it. Just like the older cats should have done if they want to stay in there.
No other sport has men in their late 30's, 40's 50+ still playing and doing well. Bass fishing is going through a transition. Unfortunately, the older guys will be pushed out. The younger guys are more marketable and appealing for future markets. The tradition is ending while a new era begins. It happened so fast that the old guys can't wrap their heads around yet.
Everybody is allowed to use the same technology. If FFS is as easy as you say, then anybody of any age or experience should have no problems using it.
