Are these bass fishing lures RETRO? (debate!)

Today we ask the all-important question: What makes a bass fishing lure retro? According to Merriam-Webster, the meaning of RETRO is relating to, reviving, or being the styles and especially the fashions of the past: fashionably nostalgic or old-fashioned. Must retro lures old? Must retro lures discontinued? Must retro lures rare? Must retro lures be from the classic lure companies like Creek Chub, Shakespeare, South Bend, Paw Paw, and Heddon? Yes and no! 1. I think retro is a state of mind. For some it can actually depend on the person's age. What to me is retro is 1980s lures and such. But some guys who are older see some 1950s lures as retro. Either way, the term resonates with a great day of fishing and a fish that got caught that day. Regardless of brand and style! Thanks Chris! Great vid! ๐ŸŽฃ๐Ÿค โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  2. I am going to go with discontinued and either bought out by a bigger company and the manufacturing process and finish changed from the original series.
But, a lot of today's lures can trace back to the ideas that were considered retro today, the spoon was a good example, still around, still catching fish but manufacturing and variety has changed
In Australia, we didn't have the range of the US, but even here we saw lures change and become unavailable once manufacturing changed and more imports became available

  3. Nailed it! It's what's Retro from your life!๐Ÿค . Funny though – started fishing lures to pass a scout merit badge back in 1970 . Did it with a daredevil imp and a mepps spinner! Some stuff is timeless ๐Ÿค
