ANOTHER TOP Bass Fishing Angler Leaving MLF Bass Pro Tour

What is happening with anglers leaving Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour? Dakota Emare has decided to leave the Bass Pro Tour to fish the Bassmaster Opens and attempt to qualify for the Elites. Why would one of the most consistent tournament bass fishing anglers make a change this late in the 2024 season? Is it about money? Is it about all the changes that happen so often on the MLF BPT tour? Is there another reason?

  1. Mlf was a good television show and would have been fine if thats all it stayed at… I don't follow the bpt because it can never have accurate tournaments imo.. Could you image professional fighters or boxers using different scales at weigh in or any other competition using weight as a deciding factor and having a different offical calling those weights as well? Then you have guys weighing fish in giant waves and high winds. In a game of ounces this just doesnt seem right. I also dont watch the bassmaster events that do this junk when they fish Lake Fork either.

  2. Dakota Ebare is one hell of a good fisherman, I had the pleasure of drawing him for 1st day of the Toyota Championship Tournament on Guntersville in 2018. He is a relentless stick, his bait is always in the water and working to generate bites. I will say this, the guys fishing the EQ Opens this year had better be ready because Dakota Ebare will make them earn every place they finish in the top 10 standings. And you will not find a nicer humble guy to be around and to spend a day in the boat with. GOOD LUCK DAKOTA!!!

  3. I hate to make an opinion on someone else’s decision just know he’s gonna have to lay in that bed, just finished looking at some of the guys who’s fishing the opens and I feel I have a better chance fishing the Elites than the opens Lol

  4. Dakota has won a ton in the Toyota Series as well, and he’s a super person and authentic 💯 MLF has made too many mistakes by crapping on anglers, and crapping of the Fans…. And with way too much arrogance 😤

  5. The interesting thing is he was on another podcast 3 days before he made this announcement talking about how great BPT was. There has to be more to the story. The Opens are going to be wild with probably 20 stars plus the 200 other guys all trying for 9 spots. Would not suprise me if BASS opens up more spots.

  6. I rewatch his Post. It almost seems as if StrikeKing pushed him a bit to do the StrikeKing video series of his journey to qualify for their social media benefit. I think it will be a big, wet, fish slap in the face, wakeup call when he realizes how hard it is to qualify thru the Opens. I noticed he didn't give any personal "thank you" or "will miss you" to anyone in MLF.

  7. Nahhhh. When you have names like Wheeler, Defoe, Jonathan VanDam, Evers, Ehrler, Rojas, Jones, etc….they will command the professional bass fishing industry. Let us not forget that it’s called the BassPro Tour. THE MOST influential man in all of bass fishing is Johnny Morris..
Hey….The Marlins or the Rays can be playing the best baseball in the MLB and may have best quality of baseball,,,,,
But the Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, Braves, Cubs……..those teams will still outsell everyone and have more fans forever and ever , amen.

  8. I hate to be that guy, because A) I know you do your homework, B) you put good effort in to these videos, C) you seem to not be toxic for the industry, that being said, please please please learn how to pronounce these guy’s names. You have butchered names on videos I have watched. I think it hurts your credibility.

  9. So I remember the old BASS and they changed things up all the time. Remember the hole jumping tournaments, and they had team tournaments, and lets not forget the boat course/race crap they did. I really like BASS and do believe they have been consistent for the most part since they started the Elites. Other than them changing up the way angler of the year was decided, they have remained pretty consistent, but it wasn't always that way and I think a lot of people forget that or never knew it. Anyway, the quest to get more views and putting something together that will do that is what MLF has been trying to do. Unfortunately I just don't think that "Growing the Sport" is going to be something that any organization is going to be able to do. I just don't think they are going to get non-fisherman to tune in. I do think that MLF will need to stop the bleed before they don't have anyone on tour that the fans will recognize. I do believe however that if they can keep 50 top name guys or at least 35 they will be able to spotlight those guys more when they drop the field size down in 2025. In turn that should help with the anglers sponsorship and make them a more attractive option. They just going to have to hold it together and get some consistency in their program.

  10. I think this is a huge hit , he is Def a top earner , top stick, and I think has a pretty good following,
Kvd famous quote is, " it's so about the attitude",
:I think it's all about the classic" for everyone

  11. There’s a reason they’re all leaving and going back to BASS……. A lot of promises were made, but nothing was upheld… do you think Boyd Duckett is a snake oil salesman ?
