Please kill the northern pikeminnow when you catch one! They are so bad for our lakes! Idaho does not need any more of these fish!
I used to live close to a section of the Snake River that was taken over by pikeminnows and we only caught 1 bass the entire summer & fall we were there! In 2001 Fish and Game undertook a massive project to remove and kill as many pikeminnows as possible from Lake Cascade, Idaho. Now, it is one of the best perch and smallmouth fisheries in the state. Don’t let Lucky Peak be taken over by these fish!
And please don’t laugh at that smallmouth…that’s big by Idaho standards!

Pikeminnow are one of the very few NATIVE species in idaho.
I went out on CJ Strike today with my friend and I caught one that was about 12 inches (rough estimate) and we cut it’s gills and slammed it back as hard as we could. My friend got one that was about 20 inches and we ripped it’s gills out and slammed it back. Pikeminnow suck
The ironic thing here is that smallmouth are actually a non native introduced INVASIVE fish to this area, while northern pikeminnow are a native species to this area. Can’t believe this crap is on YouTube

My dad caught a 2 ft long pikeminnow and we killed it and then watched a raccoon steal it after we threw it in the water

Freeze the pike minnows. And save it for winter for tip ups for pike.
I kill all squawfish I catch. I also kill all the non native bass I catch.
You only get paid for squawfish on the Columbia and Snake River. They are native species to Washington, but they have overpopulated because of the dams.

The pikeminnow is native, unlike the invasive smallmouth. Therefore, I will eat the bass and release the pikeminnow. IF Fish and Game took their responsibilities seriously the law would be reversed. Smallmouth have a more significant inpact on the salmon populations, and they are non-native.
