Harvey Horne has been fishing the Bassmaster Elite Series for a couple of years, won a BASS Open on the Arkansas River in 2018 and has done it all out of an Xpress Boat. He talks a little about his road from aluminum, then to fiberglass and back to aluminum in pursuing his dream of professional tournament fishing across the country.
Horne goes through some of the features of Xpress Boats that give him the confidence to fish big waters while being stealthy enough to get into the ultra-skinny backwaters that some of his competitors can’t reach. It’s the best of all worlds without sacrificing storage space, top-end speed, and added benefits like SeaDek, lighter for longer runs, better towing, etc.
And a bonus surprise catch at the end! 😉

Only thing I worry about with switching to aluminum for my bass fishing career is how steady does it stay when walking around on it
If your smart you'll buy a glass boat
I have had decent luck with my xpress. Mines an older model that they dont make anymore…X70. Its similar to X19 at 18'10"…its rated to hold up to a 175hp. I beat mines up on some bigger lakes and it's fine, no leaks. My trailer is also full box steel frame vs the alum trailers now. Trailer is heavy but I dont see the complaints alot of people are complaining about with their trailers. Mines was built in 2004 so I guess back then, they built better trailers vs now.
xpress has upgraded some of there trailers depending the size boat. The one I have is a 2017 model and yes it's junk. when you go look at the boats look at all the welds on the boats and the trailers then you'll see what I'm talking about. As for the boat mine still has the crack in the bottom. the transom has a crack on both sides and I always use a motor support when traveling. they will never fix that the right way. If the water is rough it'll beat you up and you'll be wet. I fish Sam rayburn and Toledo bend those are big lakes both can get rough quick if the wind picks up. Good luck if you buy one!!
I have the H20 Bay pro and one thing I can’t stand is it’s designed for the water on the deck to run into the storage compartments something that would have kept me from buying this boat had I known this. My question is does it run inside the bass boat compartments the same way?
Oh almost for got I used flex seal on the last three cracks that xpress repaired…. Hope it works I'm going fishing…..
Zach I just got mine back from the welding shop, They did a great job on the repair. They ran 2x2x 1/4 angle Iron inside the spring hanger. He started about a foot in front of the spring hanger and ran it to the back of the trailer. Then came back and welded a alum. double on top of the tube. It should last till I get rid of this piece of junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah well my trailer just broke!! 3 years old There junk.
Aluminum weight savings alone is worth it
Good video Harvey
They have a good warranty. You'll need it with those 3-4' waves. As for the trailer you'll have to pay for those cracks yourself
I own a 16' 52" Express duck boat I love it!!!
Xpress seem like great boats. My aluminum Vexus is fantastic and I don’t think I’d get a fiberglass for what i do. Aluminum bass boats are definitely making a name for themselves in the market. Keep it up!
Was that a gar he had hooked??
Hey man!
best looking boat for sure it on my list lol
Nice boat indeed
Nice job, Harvey !
Is that possible rigging with Mercury pro xs 4 stroke ?
Nice video friend
