  1. My Great Grandad used to fish that lake when my Dad was a kid. Dad says it used to fish a lot different. If i remember right, Dad said they added some type of temperature normalizing/oxygen normalizing tech about 7-8 years ago when we were camping there last. Lake used to run a lot colder and you could catch trout where the creek comes in.

Last time I was there i used wacky rigged worm worked around the mountain laurels. Next time you're around the area, try Fort Mountain State Park's lake. It's about the same size and has much larger bass on average. they're hard to catch but worth it once you do.

  2. I know they stock trout in there in the Spring because I've caught a limit there. Of course that was probably in the late 80's. Also had a 280lb black bear (I know the weight because DNR darted and removed the bear as a nisance) steal the stringer of big blue gills I had in the water while I watched him from the other side of the little cove. Got back to my family's camp and found the bear had been there before visiting me and trashed the site while they were at the swimming beach.

  3. At around 5:45 in your video, the area where the trees are in the lake to the left, I always catch good sized bass there, I spend a lot of time on that lake, it’s 15 miles from my house. Love some conasauga!!!

  4. Hey John! It’s funny that your title describes this as a hidden lake and yet you meet someone who knows you through your videos! Great job on this one! I really love the drone shots and music. Very pretty spot for sure and I’m sure it’s nice to share it with friends as well. Thanks!

  5. The scenery just showed God’s magnificent artistic flair. Thank you for showing that you got too excited and Lost the fish. That is one of my problems. It’s nice to see your professional get that way also

  6. lots of folks sit on the dam and fish for trout…Should of come to Chatsworth and traded fish tales with me here at the ADCO Motel….fun to see someone catch out of that lake…haven't been up there in 20 years…

  7. This place is awesome except the road to the lake. When you wake up on some mornings to stoke your campfire up if its semi cloudy the clouds are passing right through you. If you get bit by rattlesnake in those woods you're quite possibly dead. I always be careful there cause ain't no ambulance getting to you.

  8. I enjoyed this, especially the drone footage – I haven't fished Conasauga in nearly 20 years. Once upon a time it had trout stocked and in the summer they would suspend in the thermocline and the bass would gobble them up. There were some giant bass in the lake back then. Sadly, DNR killed off the fish and restocked only with trout. That's when i stopped going up there. It was just in the last year I learned they had eventually killed off the trout and restocked with bass. May have to make a trip back up there.

  9. God’s Country – I was born and raised in Cleveland, GA, lived in Dahlonega while an undergraduate student and have lived in Gainesville since. Watching you fish was so peaceful. Thanks for sharing.
