Bass fishing (SHORT VERSION) at Hazelmere Dam KZN & my boy's “first kiss”

It’s the first time I’ve gone Bass fishing in years, since my best mate and fishing partner Emigrated to Canada. We used to do Bass fishing comps for fun, owned a boat together and all of that, but we did lots of different types of fishing. Fly fishing for Trout and for Yellow fish etc.

Since he came to visit me just for a few days in September 2024 I have found my love for fishing again and I’ve been learning loads about dropshot fishing on the beach and the estuaries on the KwaZulu Natal (KZN) coast.

My boy turned 9 in September, he could always cast like a machine, but never caught a fish. Thanks to my mate Lyonel visiting me and helping me get back to my ‘long lost love’ of fishing, my boy and I have begun fishing A LOT!!! He’s caught many fish already, but this little trip before its back to school now in Jan 2025, he finally caught his first Bass and got his “first kiss” 😉
