“Merry Christmas Fish” 2024 Flaming Gorge Utah

Don shows his “Merry Christmas” fish caught on December 23, 2024 on Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Don uses his “patented” glide bait approach to catching shallow lake trout. He uses several brands of glide baits but very much prefers River-2-Sea S-wavers. This video’s fish came on a white (powder) color on 30-pound braid with 30-pound Vicious monofilament leader, and a safety pin swivel. Don uses Magda Reels by Okuma and normally a couple of custom built rods he won for catching the big fish is a couple of bass fishing tournaments in the past. But, today’s rod is a medium heavy St. Croix 6 foot 6 inch rod that Don has used for close to 30 years. Don Fishes out of a Lund Fisherman 1875 2022 model with a minn kota trolling motor, 72 inch shaft and a 36 volt system Don uses Amped Outdoors lithium batteries and has two hooked up in parallel to power his trolling motor.
