  1. Good video Randy. I haven’t tried the megabass blade in my winter routine yet. Some blades are slow vibrate, requiring longer jigging sweeps. Does anyone have info on where this blade performs in the spectrum?

  2. Ever since I saw your video about the Barotrauma effects on bass I get paranoid about fishing in depths greater than 30 feet. Yet, it is not uncommon to hear you talking about fishing down to 50 feet or so to catch them. Why is that?

  3. OLIVE GREEN, WINTER TIME AND VERY EARLY SPRING FOR ME ALSO! RANDY JUST TOLD YOU HOW TO GET BIT WHEN IT'S EXTREAMLY……..HARD, AS FOR THE MOST PART, WHEN THE FISH SCHOOL UP OUT N SUSPEND LETS SAY, THEY ALL TURN AN OLIVE GREEN! SO WHEN WINTER KILL TAKES PLACE FOR THE WEAK, THATS WHAT THEIR LOOKING FOR. SO ILL. 😎

  4. Been a blade bait fan for decades! If I can get them schooled up I use a double pump action either vertical or semi-vertical. Blade baits catch anything that swims. Crappie, Walleye/Saugeye and even Stripers. I prefer a 1/2 or 3/4 oz bait.

  5. Randy, I have killed them many times doing this. One of my favorite times of the year to fish. I use a French made, yeah I know, blade bait called a Sebile Vibrato Jig 3/4 & 1 oz.
They are really very detailed and great colors, very effective. Sadly like all good baits they are no longer available.

  6. If you go to the Tackle Warehouse link and read the reviews, nearly all of them are negative. Nearly every comment says they get tangled on the cast. They must be trying to get rid of them.

  7. Randy, I do love your videos. They are amazing for us we never had web based information available as an early angler. We old-school guys went by fishing books, word-of-mouth and some TV series fishing shows (outside our own experience of course). I’m now retired and live on a fixed income with a suitcase of purchased baits/lures. Unfortunately every time I watch and hear the word MegaBass I cringe knowing I cannot afford these very expensive lures. Is it possible to share other affordable baits that will give us options. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

  8. Try the “Vibe Blade Bait” it vibrates far better than any blade I’ve ever fished. For those that haven’t fished a blade bait, go slow, it has to be on the bottom, you want little hops off the bottom like 6-8” hops, they always hit it on the fall or when it’s sitting still. Use a 7’ MH spinning rod with 10lb braid, and a 15lb floor leader about 18” long with a tiny Spro swivel. Those deep fish key in on the bait and not the line. The bottom that produces the best for me is a small area of hard bottom near soft bottom, this also may indicate the presence of a warm spring depending on the lake. Also steep drops.
Bddddt Bddddt Bddddt Bddddt Bddddt Go Get em! Oh… One last thing! Always have FIRETIGER tied on it produces big fish. It looks like a Halloween color, but it works.
