This is interesting, I’ve got Uncles that fish for pacific tuna and they swear by using bait fish urine and peeing in the chum bucket themselves. They think it’s the ammonia and proteins in ours and fish urine that attracts the predatory fish. Eat some asparagus the night before and pee on your lures next day. No bs! I think it works! Gotta be the sulfur byproducts from asparagus which is why it makes your pee smell. Garlic is also high in sulfur. Makes sense considering we got garlic scents. It’s the sulfur they like.

I just take my soft plastics that I'm using for the day and rest them under my bare nutsack while I drive to the lake. The lake I usually fish is about and hour and a half away, by the time I get there I've produced enough fromunda cheese to make these plastics effective. It's kind of a mix between gulp and those catfish ball baits you buy at Walmart😂

I use buck urine for hunting, I buy off guys that make it fresh. Don’t see why it wouldn’t work for fish

This really does work I’ve been doing this for years so I figured out how to extract the urine from all freshwater species and actually sell it so if anyone is interested let me know it’s $75 a gram in a concentrated form so it goes a long way. You need to order quickly it has a short shelf life. I completely made this up by the way!!!

Never heard of using pee on baits but i have rubbed my lure on the side of fish seems to help some!
Reminds me of an old Bill Dance show where he was catching blue gill "TOYS" with his little daughter. She asked him why he called them TOYS. He held one up, sqeezed it and squirted her saying "Tinkle On You!". They were spawning, so that may not have actually been pee though. 🙂

Makes complete sense. Fish release their bladder when under distress. Urine shows that the bait is vulnerable. A saltwater captain once told me never to pee in the water because it can attract sharks.
If they can extract venom they can extract fish pee.

The chemical composition of urine is relatively simple. It could be easily simulated. If they are actually reacting some stray enzyme, that’s a different matter.
I rub my lure on a bluegill or perch when i catch one.
