This year I really want to learn how to fish a glide bait. So I am going to take this lure on step at a time to learn everything I can about it!

Although I have caught a few fish on glide baits before, I definitely think I am still in the beginner phase of learning this bait.
This is the start of a video series all about glide bait fishing and I just wanted to take you guys a long while I figure this bait out.
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

Great info , yeah I’m starting glide bait fishing this year …..definitely a learning curve n lots of patience. All I can say start with what ya have , you can upgrade tackle later …but have fun
Mornin' Ty thanks for the info on the glide bait, I have a question, see I live abroad in Mexico, and wanted to know if Sportsmans Outfitters has international shipping?
Yep, I’m heading to a local urban lake on Tuesday to solely practice fishing glide baits…
You used a med/heavy, but also didn't catch anything. I wonder how that relatable setup would handle a 4-8lbs bass hitting that glide…?
I find glide baits to be an excellent way to find fish. Getting bit on them is another thing entirely. It's like a different skill. I can get great follows and I do catch fish on them, but I now use them more to lure big fish into the area and then I'll hit them with a drop shot or jig or another secondary bait. I have yet to master the actual bite.
I like that way this guy are, very sincere and honest. Thanks.
I just bought 2 s wavers a 168 and a 120 can't wait to use them
I'm about to train myself from now til spring, got me a great setup now just got to grab a handful of good soft baits and glides
I want to learn how to catch fish on a glide bait too
Thanks Tyler. That looks like it can become a obsession, so sign me up.
Looking forward to watching more about glide baits.
Excellent vid, Ty!!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nothing better then a new video from you🎉 I made 2 new videos lately because fishing season just started and I am so hyped for all the tournaments, kayak fishing, and more! I just bought my first fishing kayak as well and bought my first car as soon as I turned 16!!
Thanks for sharing liked watching this video 📹.
That's all you can do and you start to fully learn a new technique. Is put in the time. I was hoping to see a catch one but that's not always the case
I bought a rod to tinker with deeper cranking last year—the Lews KVD CC5, rated for up to 2 oz. lures. It was a decent fit for the S-Waver with a much slower rebound than a flipping stick. I just swapped out the reel to one with 20# fluorocarbon.
Caught my pb, 7lbs on the s waver. Only other fish I’ve caught on a glide was a 5lb on the arashi.
I like throwing one but never a hook up yet !
What a rad dude . Spot on brother !
Trying to learn and get more comfortable with this myself. Look forward to more!
For a glidebait I like tying on a loop knot to work it like a spook. You should try that rigging method.
I love this as a video concept. Seeing the process of learning a bait rather than just seeing someone already an expert at it talk about it
What knot are you using?
My first and only glide bait I have I snagged on in my local lake. someone must have just lost it cause it looks brand new 😂
How do I get one of those Finn tshirts your wearing?
✨😇✝️🇺🇸🚂🎣🎣🎣✨
Literally just got back from fishing a glide bait from my local lake. Caught 4 decent bass in about 3 hours. Love this bait!
I just started to doing this as well. Good luck
Where are these t shirts? They look good
Great review brother. I had some of the same questions after hanging out at the BASS event down in Chickamauga. Even got to talk to Jason Christy about it afterwards. DEFINITELY something i wanna try in 2022
I was recently given an Arashi glide bait as a gift. I caught a 4 lb’er the 2nd time I fished with it. I’ve since picked up 4 more Arashi lures and a dedicated XH rod just for that lure. It is a very addictive style of fishing!
Good info, I bought a Dobyns Fury swimbait rod and a few glides , really need to force myself to actually put it on the boat , every time I take the boat out they look sad as I leave them in the garage lol
Always have a weightless piece of plastic tied on for those followers. I have a Deps one combo holder around my waste for those followers.
Wait till you fish a big glide, when it moves 3ft off centerline it is amazing! Check out the Baitsanity Explorer it is a "cheaper" big open water glide. It weighs 5oz so you will need special gear. I don't have alot of money, but I invested in the Baitsanity and it is worth every penny, once you see it in the water.
Thank you for all of your videos!
Eric
very impressive cover dude 👊💪
what rod you use in tharp siries for Small glides? 🇵🇹🇵🇹
The first time I ever threw a glide bait I was throwing a S-waver and on the first cast I caught a 2 pounder. Great info Ty, love seeing you learn along with us as your audience, keep it up!
A couple of good rod twitches with a pause works pretty good coming up after a piece of cover where you think the fish should be it’s almost like a reaction bite
cool…thanx so much. I just started with these swim baits too! Nice to hear my broom stick flipping stick is cool for starters with 20lb!!
You try throwing it with any luck in Ohio yet?
Definitely a bait I want to try and use more ( along with so many others) Great instructional video as always . The only thing I’d add is when trying to learn a new bait do it on a pond ( lake or river ) that you are familiar with . Less likely to lose your bait if you know exactly what you’re throwing it into .
I'm embarrassed to ask, but what knot is that?
With the “glides” it’s really almost like jerkbait fishing. It’s such an incredible bite as well! Be careful man you get that glide bait bug and you’ll end up spending $1200 on a JDM rod/reel combo like some of us sikos lol
