Buzzbait and a frog were the only topwaters that caught fish consistently for me this year. Clearly I should’ve tried a popper more lol
I think you would like the Westin spot-on top. The 10cm CD-R is my favorit natural on the bottom with flouro hit spot right by the back hook and bright yellow so you can see it work very well, but all time top water favorit will always be the Daiwa d-popper frog. But topwater season is coming to an end here is Sweden, we dont really do out fall fishing in shorts. 😛
I'm a buzzbait guy but haven't had a good year on one in a couple years now lol. I needed to pull out the poppers but just didn't, i do have years where a popper is great, years where walking baits are great and years when buzzbaits are great seems I never have a year where multiple are great though lol.

My best top water this year is a wake bait…the Jackall Mikey Jr. caught the most fish this year compared to anything else. It caught more than my $$$ megabass lures combined, around 10 megabass lures, in fact. Debo, please try the Mikey Jr, don't make me buy another one and send it to you. I have yet to catch a top water fish. I have not put much time into throwing any top water baits. It's in the list of techniques to try out next season.

I have 1 casting rod a 7ft med baitcaster and i am going to pick a med heavy fast one that is 7ft. What line would you suggest if those are the only 2 baitcasters i will have . I am in the midwest if that matters. (go hawks) I also want to mainly fish bottom contact lures with some moving baits and topwaters thrown in when i can. I am only bank fishing if that helps
Buzz bait has been money for me this fall. The strike isn’t quite as enjoyable as a popper but getting a large hook in mouth means means leas fish lost and easier dehooking once landed.
I’ve pulled out the popper more this year from watching your videos. I’ve been doing a lot better and is the best top water this year. Old school Rebel Pop-R from deep in my tackle box has been killing it this year
The Rebel pop r is the popper I use most. But my best topwater bait this season has been a Plopper style. Thanks for the video, lots of good action.
