Chris Zaldain has had great tournament success using his refined finesse swimbait system, which consists of nothing more than light line, a ball head jig and an ultra realistic 3” paddle tail swimbait. Fortunately for us, he divulges all his secrets in this detailed video, which was filmed the day after the 2016 B.A.S.S. AOY Championship on Minnesota’s Mille Lacs Lake where it produced a hefty day 3 weight of 26 pounds. This video delves deeper into smallmouth bass location on large lakes, but the same concept applies to reservoir systems down south. The beauty of this system is that anyone can do it and it flat out catches bass in most circumstances.

had a great day on st clair last week fishing this on sparce weeds in front of a creek channel with a 1/8 and a keitech easy shiner it was basically the same thing instead of banging it through rocks I was ripping em through weeds finesse swimbaits are crazy versatile

I crush river smallies all day up here in Maine. 5-6 pounders. Usually topwater or plastic soft baits. My PB largemouth Is 10 lbs. 21". My pb smallie is 7 lb. 23"

Not sure how he fishes in 20' of water in a strong wind and gets bottom contact with floating brad and a 1/4 oz bait.

Down here in Texas we don't get clear rocky lakes or at least many of them but when ever I'm on Travis or ray Roberts this is always on my deck

Great video. I love that size jig & swim bait. Big smallies in Onieda Lake NY where I fish. Walleye too! I tie my own bucktails. I bounce the jig of the rocky riprap at West end of the lake near the Onieda River outlet. When there's an East wind the 'eyes really turn on. They hang under the flotsam and feed off all the critters that get blown against the rocks. Thanks guys, great video!
