Randy, as a former pro, I’m glad you participated in pro fishing for 50years, but now it’s no good, now that you’re a YouTuber. Actually you would have to know everyone’s sponsor deal to understand what they make.
SIR RANDALL HAS ALWAYS BEEN OPENLY HONEST AND IS TO BE RESPECTED FOR HIS WORD AND VIEWS, LISTEN AND LEARN YOU WILL BE SO GLAD YOU DID
Well, I was wrong. I did the math they are actually paying out $750,000 a tournament.
I always wonder where all the money is going bassmaster is taking in a little over $500,000 a tournament. I haven’t done the math how much they’re paying out for the full field but I know they’re not paying no $500,000 where is all the money going?
Agree with the video, but fishing is probably more like Poker. Some skill is required to be good at it.
I qualified for the regional this week in Tennessee. For the first week after the last bfl I was excited about it. But the more I thought about the more I realized I couldn't afford it. Yeah could have thrown it on a credit card but with the interest rate would have been close to 3500.00 4000.00. Gas, lodging, food ect.
Obviously it’s a money pit! It always has been! Independent wealth, and/or great SPONSORSHIPS is the only way to continue as a so called PRO!
Also a hardship gets created on the anglers family as the angler is relying on family as much as themselves to support it. It amazes me how long it last sometimes before "too much is too much"
It clearly is an addiction like smoking or drinking or drugs. The bad things associated with it far outweigh the good things that come from it which is the very definition of an addiction.
tournament math has been bad since it was invented
Pay to play:
I think amateur tournament fishing is a great opportunity to learn bass fishing and it's less expensive than hiring a guide as far as the time on the water versus money spent.
Randy got deep on this one 😂
Just like rodeo.
Wow , I’m even more glad
Quit tournaments in 2016 due to the amount of cheating I seen going on. As a tournament director of many tournaments and disqualifying and listening to allegations of cheating but not being able to prove it. Good luck guys.
If you want to have a million dollars in the bank from fishing bass tournaments you better start with 3 million
Try to break even on the tournament trail itself, and make money with sponsorships and social media.
If you need to spend money on tournaments to feel alive, you probably need to watch a few more Mental Mondays
You ever heard of racing?
When was the last time you saw a real professional sport tolerate cheating for 40 years? And make constant rule changes, sometimes literally weekly, just to reverse them the next week? As Matt Stephan says, "professional" tournament fishing is really just a corporate fishing marketing activity, not an actual pro sport
If i had 5 grand to fish im calling randy and roland and ill have a hell of a week 😂
And yet…..you fish tournaments
Phycological games have been played to relieve people of their money and put people in power throughout history. In today's era of personnel data being used to manipulate us, those with the means to do so are more than happy to use that advantage.
a lot of anglers win $100,000 a year! but, they spend $250,000 to do it! maybe we should all switch to stock car racing, at least it doesnt have FFS!
Lots of bread winner wives working 60 hrs a week so their husband can work part time at a grocery store and chase a tournament gambling addiction
Tournament fishing is more hobby than profession
Tournament fishing is flushing money down the toilet but I keep my entries at the club level, which I consider much like green fees if I golfed. I don't win much but the completion is still fun. I would never go out on tour.
